I finally got this Will James, 15 1/2” seat saddle done. Casey told me this would be the last saddle he would buy, so it was especially important to me, to get everything as right as I could! It always is! He said he loved it and that is the goal I always strive for!
First and foremost, quality and function, then the art!

It is really fun for me to look back on certain events in my life but I have found it feels even better to pass some of that on to those that are very special in your life!
Hey sending your belt today and chose this buckle for you. Not super fancy but means a lot to me.
It’s the buckle from when I won district rodeo in Arco, Idaho my senior year in high school. The story is: the first bull I’d drawn was really rank and I was looking forward to getting on him. He got crippled and I didn’t know the reride bull at all. The reride was a bull owned by Pook (spell) Hawkins out of Arizona (in the red cap in the picture with the hot shot) and we had never seen his stock. Turned out Arky (reride bull was awesome) turned back right in the gate. Black n white bull with horns. Won the round.
Short round I had Leggs (brindle with nub horns pic) another Hawkins Bull. Arm jerker and straight down the pen and was only 64 points, but everyone else must have fell off as I won the round and the district championship. Picture of trophy and buckle.
Side note, when I went to college at Hartnell in Salinas, California, we went to alot of Arizona Rodeo’s and Pook Hawkins had a lot of those rodeos. Great stock for that level and era of college rodeo. Hope you will wear this with pride knowing your grandpa won it back in the day when I was younger than you are now.
