Halloween is full of tricks and treats, but it can also be a spooky time for our furry friends. Each year, shelters across the country report a rise in lost pets around Halloween—many scared by costumes, noises, or constant doorbell rings.

Thousands of pets go missing every year, but these simple tips can help your pet stay safe this Halloween.

🎃 Keep candy away—chocolate and xylitol are toxic.

🎃 Bring pets indoors and place them in a quiet, secure room so they don’t escape during trick-or-treating.

🎃 Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.

🎃 Keep candles, cords, and décor safely out of reach.

We are looking for somebody to foster sweet Shane (A1848353) for about 10-14 days from Coachella Valley Animal Campus. We are hoping to get Shane a foster while he waits for his freedom ride! He has a confirmed rescue who has an adopter for Shane in another state. They have transport lined up but not for another few weeks. In the meantime, CVAC is extremely full and in need of any kennel space they can get.

Shane is very shy but is well behaved and sweet. He does well with other dogs and appears to be more confident with a doggy buddy around to show him the ropes
