💔🐾 Meet Blueboy 🐾💔
This gentle soul has known only one home his whole life… until now. 💙

Blueboy is a 3-year-old grey and white fluffball with the softest fur and the kindest heart. He was loved—but his world turned upside down when his person passed away. Now he sits quietly, confused, waiting for the love he lost. 😿

He doesn’t understand why he’s not in the home he once knew. Why his cozy bed is gone. Why the hands that used to pet him aren’t coming back. All he wants is someone to take a chance on him. To remind him that he’s still worthy of love. 🫶

Blueboy is available for adoption today at PetSmart Camarillo. Please come meet him. He’s ready to give his whole heart to someone new. Could that be you?

✨ Let’s find this sweet boy a forever home.

🚨 EMERGENCY RESCUE TODAY 🚨
Today, Paw Works stepped up not once — but twice — to save innocent lives in desperate situations.

First, a mama dog and her FIVE tiny puppies were at risk of losing everything. Their heartbroken owner was moving and couldn’t take them. With nowhere to turn, they were about to be left behind… until a kind emergency foster stepped in to keep them safe — just until a rescue could take over. That’s when Paw Works said yes.

Then, as if the day hadn’t already pulled at our hearts — SEVEN more puppies and a possible baby daddy were found abandoned in the extreme heat in Lost Hills. Dumped with no water, no shade, and no hope... until another kind soul jumped into action and offered to emergency foster them while searching for a rescue.

And again, Paw Works said YES.

💔 We couldn’t look away — but we can’t keep doing this without YOU. Rescue takes money. Medical care. Food. Shelter. And most of all — community support.

If everyone who sees this donates just $5, we can keep saying yes to animals who have no one else. 🐶💕

Lippy is preparing for this sleepover Sunday 💤

Our sleepover program allows potential adopters to take an adoptable adult on a foster trial for nearly a week to make sure they are a compatible match before making the life long commitment of adoption.

Lippy can be a shy boy who needs patience, time and understanding. Once he trusts you and is confident, you’ll see his silly, wild personality come out in full force ✨

🚨MISSING DOG🚨

Bakersfield peeps! A PW alumni got spooked and got loose late last night!

She was last seen in the North Hampton neighborhood of Bakersfield, CA. She is likely scared and hiding but PLEASE keep an eye out and if you see her, call her mom Emily immediately with the closest cross street / landmarks. Do not chase! It may scare her further.

Your pets life and safety is more important than any BBQ or firework show. Make sure you take the proper steps to ensure they are safe at home.

The time around 4th of July we see an immense influx of animals entering the shelter system due to the chaos, loud noises and visitors. Do yourself, your pets and our overworked shelter staff members a favor and make sure your pets are a priority!

Our Story

Established on January 17, 2014, Paw Works was founded with the clear mission, to help make Ventura County "No Kill". By forming a rescue organization designed to place unwanted animals from county and city shelters in permanent homes, we hoped to help ease the tragic burden that is created when owners abandon their animals, and fail to spay or neuter their pets.

Ventura County was able to achieve “No Kill” status less than a month after Paw Works was formed, through the shear determination and support provided directly from our organization. Today, Paw Works takes in over 1,600 abandoned animals from multiple counties all over California, as well as from other rescue organizations throughout the state yearly.

With 98% of every donated dollar going back directly to the rescue, care, education and adoption to Paw Works' animals saved, we have been able to achieve significant growth in the past 5 years: 1) Over 5,500 dogs and cats saved to date 2) Two adoption centers in upscale, local malls 3) Opened and operate a board & train facility for our rescue animals 4) Created the Child Pet Ambassador (CPA) Program, which services over 200 local children with hands on interactive volunteer opportunities 5) Provided over 500 free spay & neuter services for low-income residents of LA and Ventura County.

With the help of our community, we can continue to off-set our yearly budget of $1.2+ million and continue our growth into long-term, local and national initiatives, legislation and education through the growth of our CPA program. As a 501(c)3, nonprofit corporation, all donations are tax deductible, www.pawworks.org.
