To illustrate the smoothness of a gaited horse such as this Tennessee walking horse you need to follow Judi's head in relation to the board that goes around the arena. No bounce, so you can ride this all day without getting beat up or posting with your knees.

From Don: Final Horse Show Video, Mares in hand championship

from Don: Showmanship is important in "in hand " classes, but Barb's athletic horse was a little too lean for this judge's taste.

First show, first class of a Morgan mare that Judi trained and is showing for Barb and Jerry Provencher. This is a group of seasoned Morgan show horses with one naturally trained horse in a light snaffle bit with light contact. This rail class is called "Morgan hunt seat pleasure open". Next show, the end of May at the MSU Pavilion. Judi had never ridden or shown hunt seat. Posting is not something you do with the gaited breeds such as her Tennessee Walking Horses.

Don Shapton: Just home from UVM's Makayla's first horse show. Couldn't be more proud of Judi. In their first class of 11 seasoned entries she ribbons! No actual show photos of showing, because I was also in charge of video. I will post some soon. Barb and Jerry picked a winner at the University of Vermont. This horse has lots of talent. Oh!, no we didn't bring home a collie puppy from the show, but they sure were cute.

We had a very successful first show! Makayla did steller for being her first time showing and my first time hunt seat. We even ribboned in some of our classes....what a bonus! We learned a lot and and know what we need to work on for next time. Thank you all for your support!
