Did you know that a portion of every overnight stay at Rocky Top Pet Resort helps support local nonprofits right here in our community?

Transparency matters to us, and we're proud to share that together we've donated over $2,500 to The Well Outreach through the trust you place in us and the visits your pets make to Rocky Top.
Every boarding stay helps create a ripple effect that extends beyond our walls and into the lives of families who need a helping hand.

In addition we are introducing The Rocky Top Paw Pantry!

Beginning this Friday, we're launching our Paw Pantry in partnership with The Well Outreach. We'll be collecting:

✔️ Treats
✔️ Toys
✔️ Leashes & Collars
✔️ Pet Supplies

These donations will be placed directly into The Well's pet assistance area for families in need.

Sadly, pet food insecurity is a growing challenge. Studies show that many families struggling with food insecurity also struggle to feed their pets, with some pet owners sharing their own meals or relying on human food to help keep their animals fed. An estimated 30 million pets in the United States live in food insecure households.

For many families, pets aren't just animals, they're family. No one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding the pet they love.

Help us help them.

Drop off donations anytime during lobby hours. We'll have collection boxes set up in our lobby and we'll make sure your generosity reaches local families and their pets.

When your dog stays, our community benefits. When you donate, that impact grows even more.

To help ensure we can continue providing the safe, clean, and personalized experience your pets deserve, we strongly recommend making reservations in advance for boarding, daycare, grooming, and other services.

At Rocky Top Pet Resort, safety and cleanliness will always come before revenue. We would rather protect the quality of care our guests receive than overbook our facility. Because of that, there may be times when we have to turn away same-day requests once we reach capacity.

Planning ahead helps us guarantee your pet's spot and helps us maintain the standards you've come to expect from us.

We truly feel blessed to serve the community we love every single day. From daycare and boarding to grooming and cuddles, thank you for continuing to trust us with your pets.

As summer travel and appointments pick up, our schedule is filling quickly! Our team remains committed to the same high standards of safety, cleanliness, structure, and loving care that got us here in the first place.

If you already know your upcoming plans, we definitely recommend reserving ahead when possible so we can make sure your pup has a spot waiting for them! 🐶 We hate having to deny reservations simply because we’ve reached capacity, and planning ahead helps us avoid those situations as much as possible.

At Rocky Top Pet Resort, every dog has their own story, and we love every part of it. 🐾❤️

She’s a farm dog… but she also loves the couch, belly rubs, and the simple life.
He’s a rescue… and now he’s learning what comfort, trust, and love truly feel like.
She has anxiety… but little by little, she’s letting her hair down, making friends, and finding a new confidence.
He’s full of energy… and finally has a place to run, play, and just be himself.

That’s what makes every pet special to us.
Our goal has always been to create a true home away from home, a place built on trust, transparency, safety, and genuine care. We meet every dog where they are and love them for exactly who they are.

Watching their personalities shine, their confidence grow, and their tails wag a little bigger each visit is why we do what we do.

Because here, they’re never “just” anything. They’re family.

Today we were reminded that Memorial Day is about more than a long weekend. 🇺🇸

While visiting the Nashville National Cemetery, one headstone simply read:

“Unknown Soldier”

No name.
No family standing beside it.
No story most of us will ever know.

But someone loved them.
Someone missed them.
And someone gave everything for this country.

At Rocky Top Pet Resort, Memorial Day means honoring the sacrifice, courage, and lives behind the freedom we get to enjoy every day, including the simple moments spent with family, friends, and our dogs.

Today we remember the fallen, the known and unknown, and the families who carry that sacrifice forever.

Do you love dogs, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy leading a team by example? We’re looking for a dependable, energetic Shift Lead to help oversee daily operations at Rocky Top Pet Resort.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a sit behind a desk position. Our Shift Leads are actively involved in every part of the day and help set the tone for the entire team.

📍 Available Shifts:
• 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

What the role includes:
🐶 Managing daily pet care operations
🐶 Front desk & customer interaction
🐶 Feeding & administering medications
🐶 Cleaning & facility upkeep
🐶 Team leadership & accountability
🐶 Creating a safe, positive experience for both pets and people

🐾💙 MIDDLE TENNESSEE DOG PARENTS — this is something we wish we knew about sooner. 💙🐾

Here in Middle Tennessee, dogs can be exposed to serious fungal infections called Histoplasmosis and Blastomycosis. These fungi naturally live in certain soils and environments throughout our region, especially around:
• Creeks & riverbeds
• Wet wooded areas
• Farms & fields
• Construction or disturbed soil
• Areas with bird or bat droppings

These infections are usually inhaled from microscopic spores in the air and are not contagious dog-to-dog.

⚠️ Signs To Watch For:
• Persistent cough
• Fast or difficult breathing
• Fever
• Extreme tiredness
• Loss of appetite or weight loss
• Eye inflammation or sudden vision issues
• Swollen lymph nodes
• Limping or weakness

The hardest part?
These illnesses can look like allergies, kennel cough, or a mild respiratory infection in the beginning, making them easy to miss until they become severe.

🐶💔 This post is deeply personal for us.
Our sweet Beau was taken from us a few years ago by this silent disease, and we want to help raise awareness so other families know the signs and can seek care early.
