See that precious, sleeping gold/white kitty ? His name is SPIT-FIRE. And if he could he would actually spit fire on us. lol. I have never had a cat so scared , so feral or so much in defensive survival mode in my life. We can’t turn our backs on him. We don’t know his back story but it had to be one of abuse to act like this. We are hoping with time and lots of love and patience he will come to understand he’s in a safe place of love and kindness. Until then we are giving him his space . We aren’t short on love and patience. He’s a beautiful boy just so frightened. But he loves sleeping by the lil tabby boy Cornell.

These are the hardest most heart wrenching posts to make. We have sadly lost our sweet Spooky to the effects of old age (18) and our loving big boy , Kringle to a heartworm. Yes a damm heartworm . He was a big , loving , precious healthy boy & an evil heartworm took him away from us. We are devastated at the loss of these 2 loving souls. We are a sanctuary so sadly for us volunteers we’ve had to go through this type of loss hundreds of times and we have hundreds more to go. 😿

Our sweet “Merlot” . He’s lived in cattery all his life from the time he was born when I had just started the place. He’s very old now, and someone missed out having such a wonderful cat . BUT how lucky I’ve been to get all his love. I love watching him sleep and enjoy the breeze .

So today in cattery we worked off the grid or pioneer style. We found a leak in our sink but no worries. We can get it done . All that matters is the cats food bowls were cleaned . We had the water from the shop and always keep back up water handy for an emergency. Thank goodness for my Tree Andy Chamberlain . The man can do anything! Water will soon be back on!

This baby had his first taste of lactose free milk and he approves. He appears to have had a hard life outside, but not anymore. Now he’s waited on paw and tail and gets lots of love and attention. No more life on the streets . I can’t wait to see his fur come in and fill up all his scars. Our volunteers will heal all the scars of his heart. He is BATMAN!

I hate to make this post but feel it’s needed. Sadly we have reached our capacity for intake in cattery. We are NOT able to take in kittens at all. Our adults roam freely in cattery and we don’t have a safe area to house young kittens. We can’t take in litters with mom cats either. We have strict guidelines we follow for intake and it’s on a case by case basis with medical emergencies taking presedence. We have become full rather quickly this season . Sorry but we have to think about the ones in our care first . TNR works . Spay n Neuter ! Thanks for the support and understanding.
