"Hanchett's Riding Club Annual Gymkhana 1957" - First place Carrot Race - do you know what a carrot race is? Hanchette's was a nearby farm on the Greensboro Rd in Hanover and I used to spend a lot of time there. Even overnight when a foal was being born.

Update: The rider cantered across the ring, dismounted and picked up a carrot to coax the horse back to the starting line!

Queen Elizabeth II, England's longest-reigning monarch, died in 2022 at age 96 in Scotland's Balmoral Castle. In her lifetime, she befriended American cowboy Monty Roberts.
