Fact Friday for Dec.15, 2023

3 facts about horses you probably didn't know:
1. Horses are family oriented. In the wild horses live in a structured family setting. It is important for their social development to be around other horses. They need to be in a community to be happy and vibrant. If a horse is found alone- that isn't typical horse behavior as it isn't something they have a natural inclination for.
2. Horses can decipher human's emotions.
There has been a study of 28 horses that were shown images of people they hadn't seen before with happy faces and also angry faces.
Those people in the images came to see the horses in person. The people that presented themselves in person to the horses and previously were smiling in the images, were responded to positively by the horses😊🐎. On the contrary, the people that previously looked angry in the photos were given a negative reaction when the horses recognized them😠🐎! Did you know that horses are the first non-human mammals that can recognize, decipher, react to and recall human's emotions?
3. Horses can be used in hippotherapy. Hippotherapy is most often using Geldings and Mares since these types of horses are calm, gentle and meek. These characteristics are needed to help people build trust, lift their spirits, even help people with depression, anxiety and PTSD or emotional or mental traumas learn that world can be beautiful again. These horses used in hippotherapy can help people believe that not everything in life is dangerous as some traumatic events can cause us to believe. Connecting with a horse emotionally and riding them physically can help us have a better perspective and give us hope that life can be better when we've felt too devastated to believe initially.

Can’t wait to see you, soon! 🐎🐴 Enjoy the day on the trails and make friends with our herd :) Might be rainy next week (yay! we’ve been needing it), but we’ll schedule you as soon as possible. We have openings for trail rides and horse riding lessons 🙌🤠

Give me a call to set up a one-of-a-kind experience for family and friends, or as a relaxing single person getaway for the horse-lovers amongst you (I know you are out there!).

If you are interested in boarding a horse, that is one of our services as well! In addition, if you have a horse, we have a farrier in the family who can come by your place to get your horses’ feet in good shape! Finally, one more service that we offer is horse training; if you have a horse, that you can’t ride (what fun is that?), we have experienced riders and horse trainers that can train your horse into a calm rideable and pleasant horse. We use a mixture of Clinton Anderson, Randy May, and Gabi Neurohr methods while always learning newer and better methods to communicate even better with your horse.

Thank you for reading to the end, and I hope to hear from you soon! You can call me, but be aware that I am often busy during the day, so please leave a message and I will get back with you! Alternatively, you can text my cell 601-308-0516 or email us at [email protected]. Messaging us here on Facebook is also another good way to get in contact.
Have a great day!
