Jetty had a special morning with mom and dad today! Jetty loves exploring and I wanted to take her to the beach. She has only been to the beach once years ago. I feel much more confident in my handling skills, as well as knowing her body language a lot better than when we first got her. Because shes iffy with dogs and strangers I decided to put a plan in place. 1) a do not pet vest
2) Two leashes. A long lead and a short one. We wanted to scope out the area to see what situation we were being dealt with, and because there was literally one other dog at the beach we decided to put the long lead on and give her some freedom.
3) Off time only, meaning during the work week at an early morning Ish time where there wasn’t going to be a lot of beach and dog traffic.

She jumped waves 🌊 ran and was sniffing away.
Makes me so happy to see her happy.
Being a good pet parent means also being a responsible one. ☝🏻
Not putting your dogs in situations that put them in compromising positions. But also letting dogs be dogs and when you’re around other pet owners that are considerate of others, it makes everything so much better.
