At Life with Reef, we proudly stand with the residents of Jupiter in protecting one of Florida’s most incredible natural treasures—our sea turtles.
🐢 MYTH vs. FACT
❌ Myth: Human activities on the beach don’t affect sea turtles.
✅ Fact: Lights, crowds, noise, and organized beach activities can interfere with nesting mothers and disorient hatchlings trying to reach the ocean.
We support relocating organized beach activities off the beach during sea turtle nesting season. This isn’t about stopping anyone from enjoying our beautiful coastline—it’s about protecting a threatened species during one of the most critical times in its life cycle. Nests and hatchlings aren’t always visible, and turtles don’t follow our schedules.
Quite honestly, it’s mind-blowing that this is even a debate in a town like Jupiter, where residents have always taken pride in protecting our marine life, wildlife, and natural resources. For a few short months each year, putting conservation first should be something we can all get behind.
💡 Help by keeping beaches dark, clean, and respectful of nesting turtles and hatchlings.
Because some journeys are too important not to protect. 💙🐢
