Regina Gaye Camacho

Regina Gaye Camacho, affectionately known as Gina, passed away peacefully in Temple, Texas, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1967, in Gatesville, Texas, and will be remembered with deep love by all who knew her.

Gina’s life was centered on family, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to those closest to her. She is survived by her son, Gabriel Camacho, and by her two daughters, Natasha Camacho and Elissia Lizardo. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Laurine Dawkins and Lily Speir, and a brother, Carl Hudspeth whose bond with her was part of the fabric of her life.

Her love extends through the generations in the lives of her cherished grandchildren, Bella, Chloe, Braylon, Brooklyn, Bailee, Dakota, Johnny, and Camden. Each of them carries forward a part of her presence, and they will continue to hold her in their hearts with tenderness and pride.

Gina was preceded in death by her father, Carl Hudspeth, and her mother, Josette (Moore) Hudspeth. Their memory remained part of her story, and now she rests in peace with those who went before her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holland Cemetery, 11450 Holland Cemetery Rd, Holland, Texas 76534.

Shirlene Kay Becraft

Shirlene Kay (Walker) Becraft, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 83. She was born on May 29, 1943, in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia.

Shirlene was known as a fun, spunky, and loving woman who carried herself with a great attitude. Her warmth and spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She built a successful career working for Sprint as a CPA, bringing dedication and professionalism to her work. Among the accomplishments she held with pride was being named Woman of the Year through AWBA in 1988–1989, an honor that reflected her commitment and achievement.

Outside of her work, Shirlene found enjoyment in quilting and reading. These interests were part of the life she created with care and individuality, and they brought her both comfort and satisfaction over the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Milissa Pittsenbarger, and her husband, Ronald Pittsenbarger. Her family also includes her granddaughter, Kailey Necessary, and her husband, Corky Necessary, as well as her great grandchildren Hayzen and Sterling Necessary. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Tzystuck, and Linda’s husband, Fred. Each of them carries forward the memory of her loving presence and spirited nature.

Shirlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Becraft; her daughters, Sherry Lynn Cook and April Blackmore; her grandson, Jordan Paul Pietz; her father, Carl Walker; her mother, Margie Vandall Walker; her brothers, John L. Walker and Freddie Walker; and her sister, Opal Goode.

Shirlene will be remembered with love for her strength of character, her lively personality, and the care she gave to her family and friends. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Michael Stevenson

Michael Stevenson, lovingly known to many as Mike, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Temple, Texas, joining his heavenly father. He was born on October 25, 1954, in Flagstaff, Arizona, and through the course of his life, left an indelible impact on everyone privileged to know him.

Mike was born in Flagstaff and raised in Bakersfield, CA by his late parents, Thomas Grant Stevenson and Fern Stuck Stevenson. Always humble and seeking purpose, he attended high school and later earned his GED, a decision that paved the way for a pivotal chapter in his life: enlisting in the United States Marine Corps on May 31, 1972. As a marcorsepman, he gave his utmost to his country. His dedication and discipline were recognized through distinguished awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. Mike’s military service, completed in 1975, remained a source of deep pride, as he carried with him dearly the motto: Semper Fi.

After leaving the Marines, Mike embarked upon a new venture, starting his own business in contract welding and contributing his skills to the oil field industry. He was steady and hardworking, admired for his work ethic and reliability. Mike lived a simple life, never needing much beyond the essentials, and always finding contentment in the quiet moments.

Those who knew Mike best recognized in him a private and quiet man, deeply caring, who loved all children and shared a special bond with animals, especially with his beloved wife, Joni. He held fast to the value of compassion, showing immense tenderness and understanding towards those around him.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Joni Stevenson, whose devotion and partnership were central to his life, and his son, Bobby Stevenson, who carries forward his legacy. Mike was predeceased by his father, Thomas Grant Stevenson; his mother, Fern Stuck Stevenson; and his daughter, Amber Clark, whose memory he cherished dearly.

A special thank you is extended to William "Gibby" Gibson, Steven Clark, and Chaplain Rebecca from Altus Hospice for their support and compassionate care during Mike’s final days. Their kindness made a significant difference and will always be remembered with gratitude.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Mike Stevenson are invited to a graveside service to honor his life and legacy at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542. Date and times are pending.

Mike will be remembered as a proud Marine, a loving family man, and a gentle soul who embraced life with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty. His simple wisdom and steadfast presence will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those whose lives he graced.

Larry Gene Barabas Sr.,

Larry Gene Barabas Sr. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born on February 18, 1959, in Tacoma, Washington, Larry dedicated his life to hard work, family, and community.

A proud graduate of Luling High School in 1977, Larry began shaping his path early, soon making a name for himself in the fields of heavy machinery and material production. His career commenced in 1984 with Dahlstrom Corp INC., where he operated a front-end loader, bulldozer, motor grader, and hydraulic crane. His skill and dedication in these roles did not go unnoticed, and he later advanced to the position of superintendent over material production for Gifford Hill Inc. He founded his own company LGB farm and trucking till his retirement, Through these positions, Larry exemplified a tireless work ethic, setting a respected standard for those around him.

Larry’s professional accomplishments were matched by his devotion to his Czech heritage, which he researched diligently, fostering a deeper connection to his roots and passing this pride on to his family. His love for his family was unquestionable; he deeply cherished his role as a father, brother, and grandfather, always striving to be the best he could.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Barabas Jr., Landon Barabas, Lance Barabas, and Layton Barabas; his daughter, Tiffanie Barabas; his brother, Gary Barabas; his sister, Dinah (Jeff) Braune; and his grandchildren, Aubrey Barabas and Lane Barabas, Reece Calix along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lois and Mary Friedrich; Paternal Grandparents, Emil and Lydia Barabas father, Douglas Barabas; his mother, Jerrie (Friedrich) Barabas; and his daughter, Heidi Barabas. Larry’s large family shares a uniquely strong bond, united by love even across distances.

Larry was known for his vibrant personality and strong moral compass. He firmly believed that earning one’s place in the world was vital, a lesson he imparted frequently to his family. Renowned as a “ladies’ man” and embracing life with both complexity and humor, Larry was considered the life of any gathering. He brought joy to many through his social nature, penchant for storytelling, and love of jokes and embellishments. Karaoke nights, lively stories, and shared drinks became memorable hallmarks of the times spent with him.

Outside of work, Larry’s passions included hunting, fishing, and listening to both country and rock music. His varied interests and zest for life made him a beloved friend and family member, fondly remembered for the good times he helped create.

A graveside headstone service will be held to honor the life and legacy of Larry Gene Barabas Sr. on Friday, September 4, 2026, commencing at 1:00 PM at Holland Cemetery, 11450 Holland Cemetery Rd, Holland, TX 76534. Family, friends, and all who knew Larry are invited to join in paying their respects.

Larry Gene Barabas Sr. leaves behind a legacy of hard work, commitment to family, and cherished memories that will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Sir Walter Scott Hoard

Sir Walter Scott Hoard,

Sir Walter Scott Hoard, known fondly to many as “8 Ball” or “Scotty,” passed away on August 14, 2026, at a local nursing home, surrounded by much love. Born on December 23, 1972, in Kingsport, Tennessee, he lived a life marked by honor, dedication, and steadfast service to his family, community, and country.

A native of Kingsport, Sir Walter’s early years instilled in him a sense of commitment and purpose that carried forward throughout his life. In 1992, shortly after graduating high school, he answered the call to serve his nation by enlisting in the United States Army. Sir Walter began his distinguished military career as an M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer and, recognizing his capability in the field, reenlisted as an M1 Tank System Mechanic. He devoted a total of twenty years to military service, demonstrating exceptional proficiency, leadership, and honor.

During his two decades in the Army, Sir Walter’s steadfastness and skill earned him numerous commendations. Among his many decorations were the Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, the Meritorious Service Medal, multiple Army Commendation Medals, and the Army Achievement Medal awarded five times. His unit was twice awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation and four times received the Valorous Unit Award. Sir Walter was also recognized with the Army Good Conduct Award for his exemplary professionalism, as well as special honors for his deployments, including the Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star. As a fitting capstone to his military career, he received a United States flag upon his retirement.

Sir Walter’s service took him across the globe, with deployments in Kuwait, Iraq, and Korea, shaping not only his own character but also the lives of those he led and mentored along the way. His unfaltering sense of duty was matched only by his loyalty and compassion for those around him.

Beyond his military achievements, Sir Walter was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rachel Feutz, and his children: Alexis (Hoard) Kwakye, Rylan Hoard, and Quavis Linder,. His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren—Astoria Reece, Cassie Linder, and Cameron Linder—who brought him immense joy and pride. Sir Walter also leaves behind his dear sister, Selina Hamilton, as well as his mother-in-law, Kate Feutz; brothers-in-law, Troy Feutz, Toby Feutz, and Trent Feutz; and his sister-in-law, Michelle Hurley. Each of these relationships was a testament to Sir Walter’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

He now joins in rest those who preceded him in death: his parents, Phillip S. Hoard and Linda D. Hoard; his brother, Phillip Sherman Hoard Jr.; his sisters-in-law, Robyn Braithwaite and his brother-in-laws, Torrey and Tad Feutz;

As his family, friends, and former comrades remember Sir Walter Scott Hoard, they celebrate a life of service, strength, and integrity. His enduring spirit and legacy of dedication will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Military Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 1:00pm with Mountain Home National Veterans Cemetery in Tennessee.

Shelley Edwina Stagner

Shelley Edwina (Petz) Stagner, born on August 22, 1951 in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 31, 2026. Her journey from her birth city to the many chapters she authored in her seventy-four years was one marked by kindness, curiosity, artistry, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

To know Shelley was to bear witness to a life richly lived—a life that wove together the strands of love, creativity, and faith. She was a proud graduate of San Jacinto High School's class of 1969, where her early talent for music blossomed as she played violin in her youth. Education remained an important foundation for Shelly, fueling her passion for English and poetry. The art of expression enchanted her, and she cherished every stanza she crafted and every poem she held close. Her intellectual achievements included the additional distinction of obtaining Fi Betta Cappa credentials, a testament to her intelligence and dedication in her pursuits.

Shelley’s professional journey began in partnership with her mother, working together in the insurance business at Etna. As time unfolded, she set her sights anew, finding purpose at Roman Haus, a chemical company, where she applied her energy and sharp mind.

Passion was never in short supply for Shelley; it permeated every aspect of her life. Photography provided her with a lens through which to capture the beauty that surrounded her—the fleeting dance of light on petals, the laughter shared in quiet gardens, the vibrancy of daily wonders. Her love for gardening was equally profound, as she lovingly tended her flowers and found solace in the simplicity of nature's rhythms. Poetry and art formed a core part of her being; her home reflected her discerning eye with a remarkable collection of both art and woodworking, each piece a story or memory, cherished and revered.

One of the most enduring love stories began in Shelley’s seventh grade year, when she met her sweetheart, Gaylon F. Stagner. Together, they built not only the walls of their home, but a foundation of shared memories: adventures near and far, countless pictures tucked into albums, treasured art collected along their wanderings, and many warm meals at their favorite Mexican restaurants. Their union was a testament to trust, loyalty, and uncompromising affection—a visible legacy to all who knew them.

Family always held primacy in Shelley’s heart. She is survived by her loving husband, Gaylon F. Stagner, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. Her brother, Stephen E. Petz, and her sister, Sonya E. Bibby, remain to honor her memory and continue her legacy of love and warmth. Though the pain of loss is softened by the memory of those cherished, Shelley also joins in eternal rest her beloved mother, Violet Smith Petz; and her sister, Sharon E. Parker.

Shelley’s greatest pride was her steadfast faith. She carried her Christianity with quiet dignity, marking her days not only by prayer but by earnestly passing those prayers to others. In her community and beyond, she was recognized as a prayer warrior—someone who lent strength by lifting others up, believing steadfastly in the power of hope and comfort.

A memorial service honoring Shelley Edwina Stagner’s life will be held on what would have been her seventy-fifth birthday, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, TX 76501. All those touched by her warmth, kindness, and light are welcome to gather for food and share in remembrance in the community rooms following the service.

Shelley’s memory is a light that continues to shine—in every poem recited, every flower cultivated, every loving moment between family, and every act of grace extended to others. As we remember Shelly, we honor a life that was beautifully lived and deeply cherished—a true blessing to all who knew her.
