Willard “Bill” Glenn Wood III passed away peacefully at his home and with the presence of his wife, Barbara, on Monday, June 8, 2026, just two days shy of his 72nd birthday. Born on June 10, 1954, in Victorville, California, Bill lived a life defined by service, creativity, friendship, and deep devotion to his family.

Bill proudly served his country as a Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army for thirty years “and eleven days” as he was always sure to include…His distinguished military career began during the Vietnam era and spanned significant periods of American history, including the Cold War and the Persian Gulf War. He carried the values of duty, integrity, and perseverance throughout his life, both in and out of uniform. Following his retirement from military service, Bill remained active in his community as a member of the V.F.W. Post 4008 Henry T. Waskow Post and enjoyed fellowship with his beloved R.O.M.E.O.’s group—Retired Old Men Eating Out. He cherished the friendships he formed over countless meals, stories, and laughter. Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with his family, admiring classic cars, riding his motorcycle, uncovering the perfect eBay treasure, and enjoying a well-made cappuccino. A gifted craftsman and artist, he expressed his creativity through cooking, woodworking, and sketching. Whether building something with his hands, preparing a meal for loved ones, or filling a page with drawings, Bill brought care, talent, and imagination to everything he did. Above all else, Bill was a family man.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Barbara “Barb” Wood; his seven children, Elizabeth Wood (partner Derrick Frost), Dorothy “Dory” Radebaugh, Katherine “Kat” Findley (spouse Jesse Findley), Willard Wood IV (fiancée Kathleen “Kate” Nunn), Margaret Reed (spouse Jerik Reed), Sarah Rios (spouse Carlos Rios), and Caroline Wood. He also leaves behind three cherished granddaughters, Dana Reed, Audrey Frost-Wood, and Ophelia Rios, whose lives were brightened by his love and presence. Bill is survived by his older sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Pearson (spouse Mike Pearson), and their children, Alex and Alyssa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Kelly McBroom, and her children, Ryan and Galen, as well as his Aunt Kay Sievert (spouse Jack Sievert). He is further survived by his best friend, Lyle, whose companionship and loyalty meant so much throughout the years.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy Wood and Willard Glenn Wood Sr.; his mother, Frances Patricia “Pat” Wood; his father, Willard Glenn Wood Jr.; and his younger brother, Kevin Wood, as well as his lifelong friend Steve Evans.

Those who knew Bill will remember his steady strength, quick wit, generous spirit, and remarkable ability to create something meaningful from nearly anything.He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, soldier, and friend whose life was marked by service, craftsmanship, humor, and love. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he cultivated, and the many lives he touched throughout his seventy-one years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 am at Young's Daughters Funeral Home located at 4235 E. Us HWY 190 Temple, TX 76501. A procession will follow to Central Texas Veterans Cemetery for a military graveside service with honors at 1:00 pm with Willard Wood IV leading.

Todd Alan Scott

Todd Alan Scott, affectionately known to many as "Toddo," passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at a local hospital after bravely battling a long-standing heart condition. Born on January 29, 1967, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Todd's life journey was marked by quiet strength, steadfast dedication, and a profound connection to both his craft and the natural world.

From a young age, Todd was recognized as a special addition to his blended family, first meeting them at the tender age of two and instantly capturing their hearts with his presence, described fondly as a "little care package." Growing up surrounded by siblings in a large, close-knit family, he graduated from Somerville High School before answering the call to serve his country. In 1986, driven by a deep patriotism and desire to demonstrate his American pride, Todd enlisted in the Marine Corps.

Following his military service, Todd pursued his passion for craftsmanship as a carpenter specializing in refurbishing boats in Tennessee. Known for his exceptional skill and meticulous attention to detail, he garnered a reputation for quality work that was in high demand. Despite the challenges posed by dyslexia, Todd’s intelligence and determination shone through as he mastered his trade, often utilizing auditory learning through videos to adapt and excel. His proudest accomplishments lay in his builds and creations, each a testament to his diligence and talent.

Although Todd was a private individual who preferred to avoid the spotlight and grand celebrations, his personality was marked by warmth and a gentle spirit. He cherished his alone time, found joy in watching movies and YouTube, and nurtured a love for working on cars. His compassion extended deeply to animals; whether on the farm with horses or caring for dogs, cats, and any stray that crossed his path, Todd embraced them with open arms and a caring heart.

Todd’s family remains a central part of his legacy. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Barbara Jean Curling; his stepmother, Ann Scott; his brother, James Scott (Nikkie); and his sisters, Barbara Masaoka (Mike), Diana Perry (Lin), Candace Pelzel (Henry), and Robin Storey (Tim). He is preceded in death by his father, James Doyle Scott.

Throughout his life, Todd Alan Scott embodied resilience, humility, and a quiet dedication to those he loved and the work he pursued. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives touched by his kindness and craftsmanship. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who knew him.

Barbara Ann Whatley

Barbara Ann Whatley, a dedicated community member and cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love she nurtured throughout her lifetime. Born on February 22, 1957, in Ranger, Texas, Barbara’s journey was marked by devotion—to her faith, family, business, and community.

A proud graduate of Ranger High School, Barbara furthered her education at Temple Junior College, laying the foundation for her successful career in real estate. She obtained her real estate license and went on to establish Whatley Real Estate, a business she passionately led until her retirement. Alongside her primary career, Barbara contributed her talents to Ambient Energy, showcasing her industrious spirit and commitment to hard work.

Barbara’s faith was central to her life. A devout member of her church, she expressed her spirituality through song, often filling her home with the uplifting sounds of hymns. Music was a shared joy in the Whatley household, where Barbara and her husband, Donald E. Whatley, played various instruments together, including time spent around their piano. Their mutual love for music extended to cruises where they enjoyed watching Donald perform on his saxophone, moments treasured deeply by both.

Her dedication to her community extended beyond her professional endeavors. Barbara actively promoted her real estate business with great enthusiasm at local parades, carnivals, and community events, embodying the spirit of engagement and service that defined her life.

Barbara’s personal life was enriched by meaningful relationships and enduring love. She first married Alan Rushing, with whom she had three daughters: Tammy Rushing Quintero, Rhonda Rushing Kelly, and Julie Rushing Page. After Alan’s passing, Barbara briefly married Mr. Blanching before their union ended in divorce. In 1993, she found her way back to her high school sweetheart, marrying Donald E. Whatley, with whom she shared many years filled with companionship and mutual support.

Barbara is lovingly survived by her husband Donald E. Whatley; her three daughters Tammy, Rhonda, and Julie; her brother Fred Cooper; and several grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and commitment. She was preceded in death by Gary and Rosa (Weathers) Cooper, her sister Sandra Cooper, and her brother Ralph Cooper.

Barbara Ann Whatley’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and heartfelt dedication to those around her. She has now been reunited with the Lord she so faithfully served. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her, honoring a life well-lived and a spirit deeply revered.

Robert Daniel "Danny" Dixon

Robert Daniel "Danny" Dixon,

Robert Daniel "Danny" Dixon, a devoted family man and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, 2026. Born on May 16, 1953, in Temple, Texas, Danny lived a life deeply rooted in love, passion, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

A graduate of Belton High School’s class of 1971, Danny's senior year was marked by a momentous occasion—the meeting of Jennifer Ann Kostroun, the love of his life. Their bond, formed in youth, blossomed into a lifelong partnership when they married on July 22, 1971. Together, they were blessed with two children, born in 1973 and 1982, who brought immeasurable joy to their lives.

Danny’s career was characterized by versatility and commitment. He embarked on his professional journey with a local mobile home enterprise before contributing his talents at Wilson Art. Demonstrating a determination to master new skills, he obtained his Commercial Driver’s License and worked diligently for Waste Management. Later, he applied his expertise to concrete companies and floor finishing, leaving behind a legacy of strong work ethic wherever he went.

Known affectionately by many as Danny or "Hoss," he was a man of complex character—stubborn yet loving, compassionate with a heart that led his decisions, fueled by deep emotions. Those who knew him well remember his passionate nature and the warmth he extended to everyone he met. He was proud of his children’s accomplishments and celebrated their successes with immense pride. Additionally, he earned wide admiration as the "pit master," renowned for his exceptional brisket, a skill he lovingly shared with family and friends.

Danny’s hobbies and interests painted a vivid picture of a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping, hunting for arrowheads, and bass fishing, often spending treasured time at the lake. His evenings might find him dancing at Star Hall or immersing himself in his treasured collection of music records, with an ear for Classic Rock, Pitbull, and Kid Rock. Live concerts held a special place in his heart. Wrestling fans fondly recall that if WWE was on television, you were either a fan or quickly became one in his company. Classic western shows also captivated his watchful eye, rounding out a diverse palette of entertainment that enlivened his days especially his Jerry Springer shows.

Despite facing health challenges in his later years, including a five-year battle with heart and kidney issues, Danny’s spirit remained indomitable. His resilience and courage through these trials inspired those around him and underscored a life lived fully and fearlessly.

Robert Daniel Dixon was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George Dixon and Bobbye (Calhoun) Dixon. He leaves behind a close-knit family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 53 years, Jennifer Ann (Kostroun) Dixon; his son, Jeremy Dixon; his daughter, Erin Dixon; his brother, Ricki Dixon; and his sister, Susan Hutton. His legacy continues through four grandchildren—Christopher Martinez Jr., Kash Martinez, Andrea Evers, and Angel Dixon-Thompson—and two great-grandchildren, Isabella Thompson and Eli Evers, with the joyful expectation of Elizabeth Thompson.

Danny’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and heartfelt connections. He embraced life’s joys with fervor, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will endure as a beacon of warmth, strength, and compassion for generations to come.

Rhonda Susan Jones, affectionately known as "Gi Gi," passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2026, in Liberty Hill, Texas, under the care of her daughter. Born on June 5, 1950, in Miami, Arizona, Rhonda led a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to education and family.

Raised within the Church of Christ, Rhonda was a lifelong member of the Miami Church of Christ, a community that played a significant role throughout her life. She graduated from Miami Arizona High School before pursuing higher education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. There, she distinguished herself academically, proudly joining honor societies and sorority groups and earning her bachelor's degree in education. Her educational achievements laid the foundation for a meaningful career.

Professionally, Rhonda devoted herself to the betterment of educational standards by teaching underachieving school teachers how to elevate their instructional quality and effectiveness. Her passion for teaching and presenting was matched only by her love for traveling and spending cherished moments with her family.

In September of 1968, Rhonda married her high school sweetheart, Tom Jones, beginning a lifelong partnership anchored in love and mutual respect. Their union was blessed with two children: a daughter, Rashele Highbaugh, and a son, Clinton Jones. Rhonda was deeply proud of her family, finding joy in hosting holiday gatherings that brought loved ones together and cherishing annual visits to Massachusetts to witness the seasonal fall transitions.

Characterized by a gentle and tender heart, Rhonda stood as a perfect embodiment of unconditional love. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her, leaving a legacy defined by her compassion and dedication.

Rhonda is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Jones; her children, Rashele Highbaugh and Clinton Jones; her sister, Sharon Hurst; seven grandchildren—Cody Manry, Brighton Stewart, Cayden Manry, Jake Jones, Myrannda Jones, Kelby Thompson, and CJ Jones; and eight great-grandchildren—Weston Stewart, Kynleigh Stewart, Charlotte Jones, Lincoln Bradford, Beckham Bradford, Gracyn Bradford, Stetson Thompson, and Mabrie Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance McNutt and Ruth (Cook) McNutt.

Services to honor Rhonda’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, beginning with visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, located at 4235 E. US Hwy 190 in Temple, Texas. Following visitation, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM and conclude at 2:00 PM at the same location. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery Association Inc., 107 Brown Bridge Rd, Liberty Hill, Texas, beginning at 3:30 PM.

Gary Lee Brown

Gary Lee Brown, a devoted husband, distinguished Air Force officer, and passionate historian, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home in Belton, Texas surrounded with his loving family, friends and his dear cat, Peaches. Born on October 11, 1939, Gary’s life was marked by his commitment to service, love of learning, and warm, outgoing nature that endeared him to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A native of Omaha, Gary laid the foundation for his lifelong pursuit of knowledge by graduating from high school and advancing his education at Peru State University in Omaha, Nebraska, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History. His love for historical events was not only an academic interest but a cherished personal passion that enriched his conversations and friendships throughout his life.

In 1963, Gary began a notable career as an Air Force officer, serving with distinction at Minot Air Force Base. Throughout his military journey, he earned numerous commendations including the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters. His dedication was further recognized with awards such as the National Defense Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with three oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Small Arms Expert Medal, and the prestigious Basic Missileman, Senior Missileman, and Master Missileman badges. His expertise extended to roles as a missile launch officer and ballistic missile staff, showcasing his leadership and technical skills in critical defense operations. In addition to his military accomplishments, he completed civilian personnel management training and served as a commander staff officer for on-the-job training orientation.

In 1987, Gary met the love of his life, Janet Rojas. Their bond quickly blossomed and they married in 1989, blending their families into one united and loving household. Throughout their 37 years of marriage, Gary was a supportive and caring husband who championed Janet’s dreams and aspirations. Together, they shared unforgettable experiences—embarking on eleven cruises, pursuing wine education, and enjoying rounds of golf. Gary was also an avid supporter of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s football and women’s softball teams, a connection made even more special when he proudly received an autographed softball from the UMHB women’s team, a moment he treasured deeply.

Gary’s personality was as radiant as his smile; he was the quintessential extrovert and a friend to all. His jovial spirit and genuine interest in others made every passerby a companion in conversation. His home was a place of warmth, laughter, and companionship, where his beloved cat, Peaches, was a cherished presence.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Lynn (Rojas) Brown; his sons, Joel Brown and his wife Laurie, and Jay Brown; his daughter, Jodi Gordon; along with numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy of love and strength. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Leona Brown, whose memory he honored throughout his life.

Gary Lee Brown will be remembered not only for his distinguished service and accomplishments but for the kindness, friendship, and joy he brought to those around him. His was a life well-lived, full of meaningful moments and deep connections. As family, friends, and all who knew him reflect on his passing, they celebrate a man who truly loved life, history, and most importantly, his family.

Michael Anthony Woodworth

Michael Anthony Woodworth, fondly known as Woody by his friends and cherished as Grampy and PaPa by his grandchildren, passed away peacefully at a hospital on Friday, June 5, 2026. Born on May 17, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Michael led a life marked by dedication, adventure, and heartfelt devotion to his family and community.

From a young age, Michael demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership. While still in high school, he was part of the ROTC program, which laid the foundation for his distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force. As a pilot, he skillfully navigated C-130 aircraft, embodying courage and precision throughout his military service. After honorably serving his country, Michael transitioned to a career with American Airlines, where he remained until his retirement in 2011.

Throughout his life, Michael embraced adventure with an infectious enthusiasm. Always ready for new experiences, he found joy in RV traveling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, and exploring scenic vistas. His spirit for adventure was matched by his remarkable generosity and practical skills, which earned him the admiration and gratitude of many who benefited from his readiness to lend a helping hand during times of need.

Michael’s proudest accomplishments were deeply rooted in his family life. In 1979, he became a father, a role he cherished profoundly. The love he held for his children and grandchildren was boundless, finding his greatest joy and pride in being a devoted Grampy and PaPa to seven beloved grandchildren: Briana, Darius, Ruby, Charley, Cora, Amira, and Kaia. Together with his beloved wife of 15 years, Tami Carolyn Ryan, Michael blended their families and together they spent their retirement traveling across Europe and the United States, savoring life and each other's company.

He is survived by his loving wife Tami Carolyn Ryan; one son, Jeff Woodworth; and three daughters: Marisa Cornejo and her husband Marc, Desiree Jamieson and her husband James, and Ashley Ahmed and her husband Moon. Michael was also blessed to have fourteen siblings, among whom he shared a particularly close bond with Chuck Woodworth, who was not only a brother but also his lifelong best friend.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Bachmann) Woodworth, and by his daughter Kimberly Ray, whose memory he carried with deep affection.

Michael Anthony Woodworth’s life was one of unwavering commitment—whether to his country, his career, or most deeply, his family. He lived fully, loved passionately, and left a profound legacy of kindness and courage. Those who knew him will remember him as a joyful adventurer, a skilled helper, and above all, a man whose heart was always open to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of all who had the honor to know him.
