Pearl’s Place is a Medical Rescue in Temple TX. Www.pearlsplaceusa.com Our one and only goal is to save Dogs lives. Thank you for Helping us Help them.

Pearl was adopted from the Harker Heights Animal Shelter the night before she was to be put down. Pearl lived with us the last three years of her life and in her honor we have taken in other dogs that in some minds were less then desirable and have given them a new lease on life. Most of the dogs we take in at Pearl’s Place are;
Code Red on the last ours of their lives
Dogs with skin issues. Dogs

that have been in the shelter for long periods of time
Senior dogs that aren’t wanted
Dogs with broken bones that need orthopedic surgery
Hospice dogs needing a place to live their last days

Woodrow
Daliah

I forgot a few more puppies.

Woodrow is such a great pup. The whole litter were good tempered and ready to please.

Daliah is 8-9 months old petite Border Collie. She would really love some direction and some extra circular activities. She so wants to please but isn’t real sure what to do.

In the evenings, especially when I bring all the Seniors out for some rolling in the grass, hopefully a breeze and shade, I reflect on the day.

Be it today, yesterday or a day not to long ago. I know you all see dogs being found, dogs being rehomed, dogs being taken to the shelter, dogs hit by a car and owners threatening to euthanize. So often people use the last reason hoping it will trigger some compassion.

The dog over population problem it at the point were I rather you go hold your dog while he takes his last breath, then me or shelter staff. That to me is true love!!! Take responsibility and do what’s right instead of expecting someone else to.

Today was a day where I watched a dear friend of mine cry because there was nothing left she could do. The real truth is dogs are going to die everyday. Without the public doing their part and spaying and neutering, every dog they own it won’t stop and then it will take years.

The population in our communities continues to grow, yet our shelters stay the same. People rather have iPhones, designer clothes, Starbucks everyday and fancy cars then buy a bag of food for their dogs. Instead of trying to keep up with the Jone’s, why don’t we be the Jones? Be responsible and lead by example!!

Pearl’s Place and every other rescue and shelter are Full!! Even if we had a couple thousand extra dollars it wouldn’t matter we are over capacity.

Can you even imagine how mentally taxing it is to say No, when you know that simple word was a death sentence?!

I personally lay awake at night trying to figure out how to do a little more. Trying to raise an extra $10k, try to vaccinate more dogs or trying to make our donations go a little further.

I often think maybe we should take more small dogs they adopt easier, but easy has never been the answer for me.

I guess, all I’m asking is everyone do a little better!!

Life is short, stop and pet the dogs!!

This adoption catch up is hard to see who it is because of the love between....can you guess who?!

The Dorsett family saw our big boy Cedrick on a local GSD rescue site, and fell in love! His HW+ status did not stop him adopting him! They took him home and I think we can all see the love between him and his sister May. Don't let a HW+ status stop you from loving a dog, its fixable with slow kill and they have the same amount of love to give! Thank you for loving our big boy Cedrick and giving him a chance! ❤️🥳🏡🐾

Domino Dave

His 10 month old puppy is so so sweet. Dave is on the bigger side at about 60 # at the moment.

For my 60th birthday in August, we are offering $60 adoptions from July 9 - August 9th.

I am blessed to not only have made it to this milestone, but also to be doing what I love.

I would also like to raise some money to help Pestl’s Place get through the second half of 2025.

In the first half, we have taken in 89 dogs and gotten out 90. Then of course, we still have full kennels.

Our adoption catch up today is Suzie, now Roxy. She was returned to us after a few months in a home and quickly left again because Angel saw that she had a lot of potential. Here she is in her training vest and we've been told she is absolutely amazing, doing fantastic with her training, and Angel is totally in love with her! Thank you for seeing in her what we did and giving her the best final forever home! 🐾❤️🏡🥳

Woodrow

I want to show you how Woodrow is doing.

I posted before and after pictures, 12 days apart, 12 # different.

All he needed was some food and fresh water!!! It’s as simple as that. This guy is just a puppy. 🤨

He is now ready for adoption. This whole litter is gorgeous with good temperaments. One of Woodrow’s sisters is even in training to be a service dog.

A home for the unwanted dogs in our lives. Pearl was adopted from the Harker Heights Animal Shelter the night before her life was to end.
