I wanted to bring everyone up to date on the last part of this drama.
As we all know it was stated in a meeting that we were denied pulling a medical dog for a number of reasons. First, we had pulled to many animals and they didn’t want us burned out. Second, we hadn’t turned in our spay/neuter, vaccinations records. Third, it was a matter of Public Safety. If you want to read more, scroll down through our posts.
Last Friday, August 1st, the ACO who was told to request our paperwork, took our packet of information back to the shelter. There was a cover letter, two letters of reference, a list of all the dogs we have pulled from BCAS since 2021 and all our records for each dog since 1/1/25.
Yesterday, 8/6/25 this packet of paperwork was returned to us. I was told the Deputy was not required to sign a letter of receipt. I look at it, if you require something, what is the big deal signing that you received it?
Not only were we the only organization asked for this information, but no one in the public is followed up with.
One thing I have learned from this whole experience is our elected officials are playing both sides. Right or Wrong isn’t something that is important any longer.
Pearl’s Place will continue to do what we do. Our Mission is to save lives and help our community and that’s what we will continue to do.
Let the healing begin…
