Pearl's Place

Pearl's Place Pearl’s Place is a Medical Rescue in Temple TX. Www.pearlsplaceusa.com Our one and only goal is to save Dogs lives. Thank you for Helping us Help them.

Pearl was adopted from the Harker Heights Animal Shelter the night before she was to be put down. Pearl lived with us the last three years of her life and in her honor we have taken in other dogs that in some minds were less then desirable and have given them a new lease on life. Most of the dogs we take in at Pearl’s Place are;
Code Red on the last ours of their lives
Dogs with skin issues. Dogs

that have been in the shelter for long periods of time
Senior dogs that aren’t wanted
Dogs with broken bones that need orthopedic surgery
Hospice dogs needing a place to live their last days

In a perfect world we could save them all, but as we all know we don’t live in a perfect world. Please share Pearl’s Place far and wide, the more people that know our story the more dogs we can help. Ways to Donate

I wanted to bring everyone up to date on the last part of this drama.

As we all know it was stated in a meeting that we were denied pulling a medical dog for a number of reasons. First, we had pulled to many animals and they didn’t want us burned out. Second, we hadn’t turned in our spay/neuter, vaccinations records. Third, it was a matter of Public Safety. If you want to read more, scroll down through our posts.

Last Friday, August 1st, the ACO who was told to request our paperwork, took our packet of information back to the shelter. There was a cover letter, two letters of reference, a list of all the dogs we have pulled from BCAS since 2021 and all our records for each dog since 1/1/25.

Yesterday, 8/6/25 this packet of paperwork was returned to us. I was told the Deputy was not required to sign a letter of receipt. I look at it, if you require something, what is the big deal signing that you received it?

Not only were we the only organization asked for this information, but no one in the public is followed up with.

One thing I have learned from this whole experience is our elected officials are playing both sides. Right or Wrong isn’t something that is important any longer.

Pearl’s Place will continue to do what we do. Our Mission is to save lives and help our community and that’s what we will continue to do.

This boy loves the car for short rides around town.

I was taking some gifts out of the back of the car and Hank had to check it out.

No Hank, it’s to hot to go run errands today.

Skip

This guy has come a long long way in 3 weeks.

He started his life with a loving owner that he spent 24/7 with him. He then was found in a dumpster with his deceased human dad.

Skip struggled for a week with bites, infection, depression and not knowing what was going to happen.

He is now ready for his forever home. He loves people, other dogs and doesn’t seem to care about the cat.

Skip is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, neutered and ready for his forever.

If you are interested in meeting Skip please reach out to us on Messenger and we will set up a meet and greet.

Let his healing continue…

This is the last week of my birthday $60 adoptions.

We truly have some great dogs up for adoption.

Some have been over looked time and time again, maybe because of their breed or because they are a little shy. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please ask questions and come to look with an open heart.

If the first dog doesn’t work we have plenty more to show you.

Let the dogs do the picking and it will all be perfect.

Let their forever arrive.

Medical Rescue

Not only is it important to heal the body, but so many of these dogs need to heal their minds.

Group play, learning what toys are, people time and so much more.

Healing has to be done as a whole and that is our goal. A forever home is just the icing on the cake.

Bruce

Today, we had to take 4 dogs in to the Vet for check ups so we offered to take Bruce along so he could see Dr. Cochran his original doctor.

Bruce weighed 30.2 # when he was taken in by Heart 4 Paws. The today he was a little over 40 #. That is truly amazing.

Dr. Cochran ran bloodwork and did a f***l. His bloodwork showed he is still anemic and f***l showed still presence of parasites.

Over all, he was very pleased with his condition.

Bruce will need to have bloodwork and f***l redone in 3-4 weeks.

Let his healing continue..

Today was the budget workshop for the Bell County Commissioner's Court. This was an important meeting for anything needing to be added to the budget for the animal shelter. 💲🐶😺

I, along with several other pet advocates in the community, spoke about the most urgent needs at the shelter. I discussed the importance of hiring an outreach coordinator, funding enough food to feed the shelter pets, and funding vaccines and dewormer to ensure pets adopted out into the community aren't spreading diseases or parasites. 💉🪱

What struck the hubby and I today was neither the Sheriff, the Sergeant, nor the shelter manager were present to advocate for anything needed for the shelter. I have no idea if it's common for shelter management to attend budget meetings that directly affect their job, but, at least the community showed up and shelter advocates were there to help. I sincerely hope all of us advocates who spoke today on behalf of the animals made some impact on helping the shelter receive the funds it needs to save lives.

We will continue to be the voice for displaced animals and hope you will join us in advocating for our local shelter pets. 🐾❤️🐾

Busy Monday morning before the storm hits.

Ren and Tinker Bell went in to have their splints refreshed. These puppies are hell on splints.

Skip also went in for his neuter. This boy has come out of his shell and is so, so sweet and starting to live life as a puppy.

Now it is pouring rain and thunder and lightening, such an unusual summer.

Lamb chop

This girl has settled in and is a very sweet girl. Let’s start off by she gets along with other dogs, but might be selective if not introduced properly.

Lamb chop was a save from euthanasia, because as a working dog she does have a high prey drive. We rather she go to a home with no small animals or young livestock. With training this might be a different request.

Lamb chop does a a group of friends she goes out with and does well with.

Some of these dogs are Seniors, some have medical or skin issues others are just unwanted.
