Life is labs Rescue, Inc. is a full service, non-profit rescue, boarding and training facility for both homeless dogs and dogs with homes. We rescue abused, abandoned, neglected and otherwise unwanted dogs. While we are theoretically a Lab rescue, we love all dogs and you will often find plenty of non-Labs in our pro

gram. We are currently located on a beautiful lake 35 miles west of Atlanta, GA. We are in the middle of building a new 24-acre facility in Powder Springs, GA (about 17 mi west of Atlanta) that will expand our capabilities, allow us to have a larger staff and volunteer group as well as on-site events, services and education. Please LIKE our page and watch us grow! OUR RESCUE PHILOSOPHY

ALMOST EVERY DOG DESERVES A CHANCE TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE SHELTER ALIVE — REGARDLESS OF AGE, HEALTH OR ATTRACTIVENESS. OUR ONLY EXCEPTIONS ARE DANGEROUS DOGS OR DOGS WHOSE QUALITY OF LIFE IS SO POOR THAT THE MOST LOVING OPTION IS HUMANE EUTHANIZATION. EVERY RESCUED DOG DESERVES WELLNESS CARE, IMMEDIATE CARE FOR HEALTH AND MEDICAL CONCERNS, COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN PLACES TO LIVE AND REST, EXERCISE AND ACTIVITY RELATIVE TO THEIR AGE, TEMPERAMENT, ACTIVITY LEVEL AND PHYSICAL CONDITION, AND QUALITY HUMAN INTERACTION. THE CHOICE TO RESCUE SHOULD BE DONE RATIONALLY AND NOT JUST EMOTIONALLY. WE SHOULD CONSTANTLY BE MONITORING OUR TIME, FINANCIAL AND PERSONNEL CONSTRAINTS TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE NOT OVERBURDENING OUR SYSTEM AND PROVIDING LESS THAN EXCELLENT CARE TO THE DOGS AND PEOPLE INVOLVED IN OUR PROGRAM. DOING THINGS “ON THE CHEAP” DOES NOT ALWAYS BENEFIT THE RESCUE. WE WILL SPEND WHATEVER MONEY WE FEEL IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE DOGS WHILE ALWAYS ATTEMPTING TO WORK WITHIN BUDGETS AND
SEEK OUT THE BEST DEALS AND DONATIONS WE CAN. TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING ISSUES SHOULD BE WORKED OUT PRIOR TO ADOPTION. WE PREFER TO MAKE AVAILABLE ONLY DOGS WHO WE FEEL WILL MAKE A SMOOTH TRANSITION INTO THEIR NEW FAMILIES’ HOMES. THE BEST ADOPTIONS ARE ADOPTIONS WHERE THE FAMILY AND DOG ARE AN IDEAL FIT. ACTIVE DOGS DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO STRETCH THEIR LEGS AND RUN WITH ABANDON. ACTIVE DOGS OF ANY AGE REQUIRE EXERCISE AND PROSPECTIVE ADOPTERS SHOULD HAVE THE MEANS TO PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATE EXERCISE FOR THE DOG(S) THEY ARE CONSIDERING. DAILY LEASH-WALKING IS NOT CONSIDERED SUFFICIENT EXERCISE FOR AN ACTIVE DOG. ALL ADOPTED DOGS DESERVE ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE, NUTRITION, ACTIVITY AND ATTENTION. ALL ADOPTED DOGS DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT BY ALL MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY AND ANYONE WITH WHOM THEY INTERACT. THEY SHOULD BE PROTECTED FROM NEGLECT, ABUSE AND POTENTIAL HOUSEHOLD AND HUMAN RISKS BY THEIR ADOPTERS. ALL ADOPTED DOGS DESERVE TO BE PRIMARILY INDOOR DOGS, ENSURING DAILY CONTACT AND AFFECTION FROM THEIR ADOPTERS. THEY MAY MAKE MISTAKES, MAY HAVE SKELETONS IN THEIR CLOSET THAT THEY CAN NEVER COMMUNICATE WITH US, MAY NOT FEEL GOOD AND MAY HAVE BAD DAYS. THERE ARE TRANSITION PERIODS FOR ANY ANIMAL MOVING INTO A NEW ENVIRONMENT. WE SHOULD ALWAYS BE AWARE OF OR ATTEMPTING TO ASSESS ANY PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CAUSE FOR BEHAVIOR ISSUES AND CHANGES. WE BELIEVE IT TAKES AT LEAST THREE WEEKS TO KNOW THE “REAL DOG”. THE STRESSES ASSOCIATED WITH BEING PLACED IN A SHELTER AND/OR SURRENDERED BY THEIR OWNER CAN CREATE FEAR, ANXIETY AND OTHER BEHAVIORS THAT MAY MAKE THE DOG APPEAR TO HAVE ISSUES. ALL DOGS DESERVE TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME OUT OF THEIR SHELLS AND SHOW US WHO THEY REALLY ARE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY PROVIDING THEM A SAFE, SECURE, STRUCTURED HOME OR HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT WHERE THEY CAN RELAX AND THRIVE. OUR RESCUE PROGRAM SHOULD BE MANAGED LIKE THE BUSINESS THAT IT IS. WE NEED TO CREATE AWARENESS FOR OUR DOGS THROUGH MARKETING, PROMOTION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS. WE NEED TO FUNDRAISE TO SUPPORT THESE AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. WE NEED TO MANAGE OUR MONEY AND TIME IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE DOGS. AND WE NEED TO PLAN AND WORK TOWARDS GROWTH SO THAT WE CAN SAVE MORE DOGS.

Hey friends,

I HAVE EXCITING NEWS (for me at least lol)

Do you still remember me?

It’s been I think now maybe even over FIVE years since I’ve done a live video with all of you.

And we have not been active on our page. All of our remaining dogs are in sanctuary with us and doing well.

And I know I keep saying it, but I have missed you all so much. It’s really hurt.

It has taken me three years to heal. I had to pull myself away from everything. I had allowed myself to run right into the ground, face first.

And it was an awakening for me, even though it was painful and took a lot of work to heal from depression and anxiety among other things I can’t discuss yet.

BUT TOMORROW I WILL BE REUNITED WITH MY DOGS AFTER OVER ONE YEAR!!!!!

Can you believe this? That I would ever leave my dogs?

First of all, three years ago I almost found homes for them because I felt like they didn’t deserve to have such a piece of s**t for a mom - that’s how bad things were….

And then, I had to run…. Run to where I could heal.

And I did.

But tomorrow, I hope to do my first live video in what I think is over 5 years. And it’s going to be me seeing my babies for the first time since last spring…

There will be snot, hyperventilation, guttural noises from the great beyond, who knows what else. 😆🤦‍♀️🤍

They have been in more than capable hands while we’ve been apart.

And I have no idea who will be around to watch, but I want to share with you the joy and pain.

And to promote compassion and understanding towards one another because I would be the last person you would think would ever separate from their animals….

And I still can’t share much, but I have a plan to share my healing journey to help others. And it may amount to nothing. I’m at absolute peace with that.

But I do hope that I can touch as many lives this way as I have through animal rescue.

Because, yes, I have always loved dogs. But I have always loved people too. And people are suffering. And I want to help as many of them as I can. 🤍

I hope in all my work with dogs that my compassion for people was clearly demonstrated. There was nothing I loved more than seeing the joy our program brought to families through the healing of animals.

Love you all and hope to see you tomorrow. I’ll update when I have an idea of the time.

🤍✌🏻

These two cuties are Buck and Izzy!
🐶🎄✨🐾🐶🎄✨🐾

Buck and Izzy have been at IWag since May 2019. They were only about three months old and were found by some of our awesome clients abandoned on a dirt road. We believe these babies were feral puppies. It took several months for them to become accustomed to and trusting of humans.

Buck and Izzy are adoptable! They are a bonded pair and would need to be adopted together. They are extremely shy of people and other dogs and we believe they’d be best as the only pets in the home. Smaller children tend to make them nervous but they do just fine with teens around 13 and older! Izzy is obsessed with her ball! Play fetch with her and she’ll be your best friend forever. Buck is the more timid of the duo, but he’s sooooo cuddly when he gets to know you!

Buck and Izzy’s adoption fees are waived. They would require several repeat visits to become comfortable with you, which has unfortunately hindered their adoption. But once they decide you are a part of their pack, they are the most lovable and loyal pups you’ll ever meet!

Donations and support from you all are what allows us to keep dogs like Buck and Izzy here at IWag while they await their forever family. We’ve received some great things from our Christmas wish list, but we could still use things like treats, chew toys, towels and cleaning supplies! The link to our wishlist is below. As always, we can’t thank you enough for supporting the pups who live here at IWag!

This handsome man is Hampton!
🐶💜🐾🎾🥩🐾💜🐶

Also know as Hampy, Hampington and Hampytain, Hampton has been with us at IWag since January 2013!! While he’s a very good boy here with us, Hampton has one major issue. He hates (almost) every man he has ever met. He will not hesitate to give any and every man he sees a big nibble. That’s ok Hampton, we love you anyway!
😈🧔😈

Hampton loves to play fetch more than anything. He could play with a jolly ball for hours! His hobbies also include eating anything and everything and getting love from all his lovey human lady friends at IWag!
💜🐶👱‍♀️🥰🎾🥩

We’ve gotten so many treat and toy donations from our Christmas wish list and we can’t thank you enough! While we can never have too many of those things, we could really use some of the other supplies on our list like cleaning supplies and expo markers. Donations like those help us put extra money towards dog food and vet bills! Thank you so much for your continued love and support to help us give dogs like Hampton fabulous lives here at IWag! Amazon link to our Christmas wishlist is below!

This goofy girl is Eloise!
😈🐾🐶💜😈😈

Eloise was owner surrendered to us in August 2020. She has always been a bossy girl and though her training is ongoing, she remains extremely sassy!

Eloise is super smart! We’ve taught her lots of tricks and she’s made vast improvement, but she still doesn’t hesitate to give strangers a big nibble whenever possible. That means Eloise gets to live here with us at IWag! She loves playing ball and doing tricks for treats! In fact, she gets so many treats that she’s often on a diet! Eloise would love if her IWag supporter friends would send some treats from our wishlist! 🍗🥩🥓🍖

This is good boy Mack!
💜🥰🐶🐾💜

Also known as Macaroni, Mac and Cheese and Mackadoodle. Mack has been with us since May 2021. He came from a shelter and was heartworm positive. We treated his heart worms and Mack was adopted! Unfortunately, Mack became very unpredictable in his new home and was subsequently returned to us at IWag. Mack is extremely weary of strangers and his fear causes him to lash out, making him unsafe to adopt out. But that’s ok, we’re happy to have Mack live here with us as part of our sanctuary program! 💜💜💜

Mack is the bestest boy for his human friends here at IWag and he loves to play with balls and toys!! Mack would love to have a toy or two from our Amazon Christmas wish list so he can spend all his free time in the big yard playing with them with his friends! Thank you for helping us keep nervous boy like Mack happy and healthy! We couldn’t do it without you 💜🐾🐶

This handsome little guy is Joey!
💜🐶🐾😈

Joey has been with IWag since January 2020!! He came to us from another rescue partner along with several other small dogs. All of the other pups were adopted, but Joey has always had trouble trusting strangers. He was originally found at a local dump where he was living off the trash there.

When Joey first came to us, he was heartworm positive and we weren’t able to handle him at all. It took several months for him to trust us completely but we never gave up on him! Now Joey loves all of his doggie and human friends at IWag! He still struggles with new people and it takes several weeks for him to warm up to new employees. Because he has a bite history and remains a bite risk, Joey is not adoptable and will live a wonderful life here with us at IWag! Joey loves playing with the two resident cats here at IWag and is especially bonded to our kitty cat Squeaky.

We think Joey is around 7-8 years old, and we are trying very hard to keep his teeth nice and healthy! Smaller dogs notoriously have bad teeth and we’re doing everything we can to prevent that! Joey would really appreciate some of the small dog chews and hard toys to help keep that tartar from forming. The link to our Christmas Amazon wishlist is below! We couldn’t do it without your support! Thank you!
