Remembering Ahmi Harper
Ahmi Harper is the sole reason why I got into dog training. Ahmi was adopted from Temple Animal Services (Heart to Home) at 4mo old. She was the happiest one there and I couldn't say no.
For 2.5 years, Ahmi Harper dedicated herself to me. She was a Task-trained service dog during those first 2.5 years of her life. She was tasked for Psychiatric & Light Mobility (Retrievals)
The last years of her life, we did pet friendly outings. Her favorite things were Food, People, and other dogs. Her life wasn't always glamorous, she suffered from Epilepsy (why she retired from service work), had a CCL repair as well.
The last few days/weeks she was starting to slow down, really aged, and just was more tired. She in the end, had Lymphoma and was no longer happy & food driven. She slept more, but I told her, when she was ready to let me know.
Unfortunately today, 10/24/2026 @ 9:04AM was her end of service. She was 5 years old.
Thank you so much, Ahmi, for every single thing that you've done not only for me, but others as well. You have touched the lives of many people and dogs alike.
I will continue my training journey, in Honor of Ahmi Harper.
Please hug your dogs extra tight for me today.
