When teaching something new, Instant gratification is key to helping your pup understand what your intention is.

The same goes for correcting bad behavior!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Correcting bad behavior long after it happens is not only unfair but it’s cruel… at this point your dog has no idea why it’s being corrected.

Rewarding your dog can be done with treats, toys, or using your voice and touch 👍🏼.

It’s officially fall! 🍁… but it sure doesn’t feel like it yet! Last week we reached 96 degrees outside!

Don’t forget to be mindful of our pups during this warmer fall weather 😉.

Having that said, we can’t wait until it’s really cold out and we get to spend more time outside with the pups!

Did you know that when your dog shows you their belly / lays on their back it could be a sign that they feel comfortable and safe in that environment?

Hero, the golden feels pretty great in his forever home 🤍. We have absolutely loved seeing him transform from a broken and terrified dog to a confident and amazing pup! His parents have put in the work and it’s showing!! 🐾

Group training is by far one of our favorite training times!

Group training offers not just obedience but the chance for your pup to perform those commands in public, next to other dogs, and people! Which is what most dogs need of course!

Do we spoil our dogs? You better believe it! 👀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀.. but have you ever stopped to think about why you spoil your dog? The obvious reason is that we love them, BUT your dog is an animal (even if we do call them our babies!). It understands love by your actions, feelings, and emotions and not by how many treats they receive in a day, toys they get for Christmas, or how many pretty collars they own🤪.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The reality is that most dog owners will spoil their dogs because it makes THEM happy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what makes your dog happy? 👇🏼

Being fed quality food, exercise, mental stimulation, exercise, teaching them new things so they feel they can better communicate with you, exercise, your affections, and finally being exercised.

Bernie is a reactive dog but Mom and Bernie are both learning what works and what doesn’t when it comes to controlling his reactivity and have come a long way!

We often misunderstand what having a bond with our dogs looks like. As human beings, we assume that LOVING, spoiling, over-feeding, etc... is building a bond. Sorry to break it to you but it's not.

By no means are we saying not to spoil your dog but remember that spoiling your dog is for YOU to feel better not your dog. Also... doing it at the appropriate time is key!

🌊 Swimming is not only great exercise for your dog(s) but it can also be really great physical therapy, just like it is for people!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Odin (our personal dog) has been swimming as part of his physical therapy and he's starting to get more confident and stronger in the water again. He enjoyed swimming prior to him getting sick so using it as part of his recovery has been great.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
