The Subzero team recently attended the 2025 Affenpinscher National Specialty, Bexar County Kennel Club and Alamo Area Toy Dog Club in San Antonio, Texas, from July 10-13. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with both new and existing clients. We also donate to as many clubs as we can each year, and wanted to go show our support in person at this very cool event! At Subzero, our core passion lies in "Preservation breeding" and all that it entails. We believe that attending national events for specific breeds is crucial for learning, growth, and showcasing the results of dedicated effort. We take immense pride in our work and the breeders we support, as well as our own Simian Affenpinschers program. This truly is a group effort, and we're incredibly proud of the achievements of our dogs! Here's a recap of our fantastic weekend:
Day 1: Alamo Toy Dog Club Judged by Mr. Dale Martenson
Beameup Art of The Deal for Simian, "Tariff", Placed 1st in the 6-9 month puppy dog class. He showed like a rock star despite it being his first time in a lively indoor venue.
Simian’s T-Rex, "Rexy, " secured 1st place in the largest class of the weekend, the Bred By Bitch class, and went on to earn Reserve Winners Bitch against strong competition.
Ch Simian’s TKO, "Wesley", was awarded Select Dog in a very competitive Best Of Breed lineup for his first Grand Champion major!
Larkynn showed "Terry" in junior showmanship and was awarded Reserve Best Junior!
Later that afternoon at The Bexar County Kennel Club, judged by Mrs. Sharon Newcomb
"Tariff", once again took 1st in his class and then impressively won a HUGE Winners Dog Award. As the youngest Affenpinscher entered (along with his brother), he earned a 4-point major, marking his third major win towards his championship!
"Rexy", again won the beautiful Bred By Bitch class and then Reserve Winners Bitch.
CH Simian’s Tamarin Terry, "Terry" was awarded Select Dog for his first Grand Champion major!
Day 2: Official 2025 Affenpinscher National Specialty Day. Judged by breeder-judge, Mrs. Pamela Peat
Sweepstakes (under Judge Mr. Robert E. Stein), "Tariff" won his 6-9 month puppy class and was named Best Puppy Junior In Sweeps. Affenpinscher National Breed judging, "Tariff" was again awarded 1st in his class and also Best Puppy!
CH Simian’s Tamarin Terry, "Terry", was awarded Select Dog and another grand champion major!
Terry also won the Stud Dog Class, with Simian’s TKO and T-Rex in the ring alongside him. Sam and I couldn't have been prouder of this beautiful litter, sired by Terry and Shirley. We've dedicated a lot of effort to keeping these dogs in top condition, and it was incredibly rewarding to show them all together, with Larkynn showing Rexy.
Day 3 Morning Show: Affenpinscher Club of America Supported Entry, judged by Mrs. Cindy Vogels:
Our big winner that morning was Larkynn and "Terry" by winning another Reserve Best Junior from the open senior class! Our dogs continued to show well in the classes and happily participated ;)
In the afternoon at Bexar County Kennel Club, judged by Ms Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine:
"Tariff" continued to give it his all and again won his puppy class!
"Rexy" placed once again in the beautiful bred-by exhibitor class.
"Wesley" was awarded select dog for his second Grand Champion major!
We've included some wonderful pictures from Ringside Hounds, as well as our personal photos from the event. My absolute favorite photo from the weekend is of our three Affenpinschers in the stud dog class ❤️
We loved our trip and connecting with so many of our clients! Thank you for all of your continued support!
