For so many this is the end of their journey. No last minute plea. No 2nd Chances. No family. No home. No future. They will end their final moments in a cold, loud shelter cell dreaming about the life they should have lived. A life filled with new experiences and hope. A family to love and a home to call their own. Isn’t that what we all want? It’s so unfair that those who cannot speak for themselves are fated for an end they never asked for.

No single rescue can save them all but when rescues and people work together countless more lives can be saved. That’s exactly why our Mutt Movers program is so important. It gives these lives the chance they need when they are out of luck and out of time. Want to get involved? There are so many ways you can help. By opening your home to short term transport fostering to volunteering to drive or help care for transport dogs waiting at our rescue ranch for the next trip. Maybe you know of a 501c rescue with room. Give them our info we’d love to connect and give a few more precious lives the only chance they may have to live the life they are about to lose ❤️

Meet Leela.
This tiny puppy showed up at our local shelter with a severe eye infection and a deep laceration to her eye. It was clear she was in pain and needed immediate medical intervention. The shelter medical team and veterinarian acted quickly and compassionately. Despite their best efforts to save it, her eye had to be surgically removed to stop the infection and relieve her suffering. Because of them, Leela is no longer in pain.
Now this brave girl is learning how to navigate the world with one eye. She’s still figuring out how to trust. Still learning that hands can be gentle. Still adjusting to seeing the world a little differently. But puppies are resilient. And Leela has so much life ahead of her. Thanks to our Mutt Movers program, Leela won’t have to heal inside a shelter.

This Sunday, she will climb aboard our Mutt Movers bus and travel safely to our incredible rescue partner, El Paso County Canine Rescue in Colorado. Through this partnership, 25 dogs are getting a second chance at life outside of an overcrowded California shelter.

Twenty five lives.
Including Leela’s.

But transports like this don’t happen for free. Gas, vehicle maintenance, driver fees, dog vaccines, food, logistics all add up quickly. If you believe in second chances and stories like Leela’s, please consider helping us fuel this trip.

Guys we are so close to filling up the Mutt Movers Bus! Over half way there and if just a few more give that’s even more lives saved. These transports take at risk dogs from our high kill shelters and move them to partner rescues out of state with room. What if $25 could save a life would you give that life their chance?

Each and every Mutt Movers transport we send out has a cost and you can help fill our transport bus with your donation. These transports take at risk dogs from our high kill shelters and move them to partner rescues out of state with room. Did you know large and medium breed dogs are the most at risk in our public shelters? They are the most overlooked and the most euthanized. They are also a big focus for our Mutt Movers program. While we move dogs of all sizes we also focus on getting these bigger guys and gals out and to the safety of rescue partners with room and more options did adoption. Sometimes our program is the only lifeline they have. Want to support what we do and give a few more lives their chance? Remember that beautiful family all quarantining because of a positive distemper test? Well we have some really exciting news! They are officially in the clear and officially going to head out on our mutt movers transport to Life Savers Animal Rescue in Montana! 3 precious souls who almost lost their lives because of a positive test lived because a foster said yes! We are so thankful to that foster family and even more thankful these three will begin the rest of their lives in Montana!

Four little adorable faces each one ready to start their very 1st rescue journey. These teeny tiny underage babies have no idea how lucky they are! Brought into our city shelter at only 5 weeks old their options were limited. They were too young for adoption and needed rescue to give them their chance at life. Life is what they’re getting and they’re getting it with our Mutt Movers program. They’ve settled into foster care while they wait for their transport to Washington and all the adventures their new lives will bring. Big shout out to Unity Rescue for loaning us one of their amazing foster families! We didn’t have an open foster spot for all four and Unity came to the rescue. It truly is amazing what we all can accomplish simply by working together ❤️

When your 2nd chance is just a drive away……Last year our Mutt Movers program saved over 1,000 lives. That’s 1,000 lives who left high kill shelters to out of state rescues with room. 1,000 lives saved because so many people said yes! You can say yes too. Join our volunteer Mutt Movers team. We always need fosters willing to open their homes for short periods (2 weeks typically) and volunteer drivers to get these pups to safety. It’s fun, it’s rewarding and it absolutely saves lives!

13 babies born out in the desert. 13 babies who needed their chance and because there are absolutely good people in this world all 13 babies found love and care with one kind human. She gave them what they needed while she searched desperately for help. So many would have turned a blind eye. So many would have never opened their hearts or their homes. But this individual did and because of her kind actions all 13 lives were saved. We heard her pleas for help and help is what we provided. All 13 babies are now safe in our foster homes and scheduled to head to out of state rescue partners on our next couple of Mutt Movers transports. So many wiling to say yes gave these babies their chance. We hope when a life is on the line you’ll consider saying yes too ❤️
