It’s Dental Awareness Month! Did you know 80% of dogs have dental issues by age 3? Yearly veterinary checkups are essential to address plaque before it turns into irreversible, painful gum disease.

Some signs your pets maybe having some dental issues consist of:

Red gums
Bleeding gums
Plaque
Bad breath
Blood in water or food bowls
Thick saliva
Favoring one side of the mouth
Dropping food while eating
Facial swelling
Rubbing the face with the paws or on the floor

Brushing your dog’s teeth with pet friendly toothpaste is the first defense against gum disease. If your dog will let you, daily cleanings is the best for prevention!
