Perseus (Percy) update — and he’s in the process of being officially adopted.

When Percy first arrived, his instincts were built entirely on survival. Distance was the only thing that felt safe, and his response to people was to run and protect himself.

Today, Percy meets me at the gate looking for connection.

Through patience, liberty work, and time, Percy has reached the first crucial milestones that give a wild mustang the foundation for life with a human partner — liberty work, haltering, leading, desensitization, grooming, picking up all four feet, and trailer loading.

Percy has been adopted by Janelle, who is committed to continuing his journey by keeping him in training here at Mustang Redemptions so his confidence and partnership can keep growing.

Real trust with a wild horse isn’t built overnight.
But Percy has taken the first steps toward the next chapter of his life.

Meet Blazer — a 9-year-old bay mustang gelding with a stout, well-built frame, strong bone, great feet, and big, beautiful, expressive movement. Started thoughtfully as an untouched yearling in 2019 through the Mustang Beginnings Challenge at the Kansas State Fair youth program, he has a solid foundation on the ground including liberty work, obstacle training, and being comfortable carrying a saddle. He loads and hauls quietly. He has not yet been started under rider.

Blazer is intelligent and engaged, always looking for the correct answer, with forward energy and a willing mind. His foundation is solid and he is ready to continue his journey with a rider. As his training progresses, *his adoption fee will increase.
