My little tabby of many years Squirrel loved to play shower monster. She got the name Squirrel because she was so tiny when I got her she looked like a baby squirrel. So…🐿️she became! Seeing these 2 rotten tabby girls play “shower monster”brings back a lot of memories and makes me smile!😊 She actually passed away last year. Time just doesn’t slow down.

🐾 Monday Night Rocky Update 🐾

Rocky had his orthopedic surgery today at Bedrock, and we are happy to share that everything went well!

His surgeon was able to repair his leg using a plate, screws, and a long pin. Because of the type of fracture Rocky had, it was a more complicated surgery, but the surgeon was very pleased with the repair and how everything looked on the post-operative X-rays.

Rocky will stay at the hospital overnight, and we should receive an update tomorrow about when he can come home. The surgeon thinks it may be tomorrow, but Wednesday is also a possibility depending on how well his pain is controlled.

Rocky will need 8 weeks of strict exercise restriction, with only short leash walks for eating, drinking, and bathroom breaks. He will need to remain confined as much as possible while his leg heals, with activity gradually increasing over time.

The best part of today’s update? The staff said Rocky was an absolute sweetheart with everyone all day long while waiting for surgery. ❤️🐾

Thank you all again for your donations, prayers, and support. Because of this amazing community, Rocky received the specialized surgery he needed and is now on the road to recovery!

This is a mission very near and dear to my heart! You guys come out and get some good food and help support the Faith Fair 2027! It’s going to be a lot of fun!✝️❤️

Some events are simply about business… but others are about purpose.

If you’ve followed Lemonanigans for any length of time, you know my heart has always been about more than serving drinks and baked goods. I truly love planning events that bring people together, strengthen communities, and support something bigger than ourselves. Event planning with a purpose is where my heart is.

That’s why I’m so excited that Lemonanigans will be part of the Faith Fair Summer Fun Raiser BBQ Party on August 8th at Redwood Park in Hudson!

This fundraiser is being organized by a wonderful group of local churches working together to build something special for Caldwell County—a place where families can gather for fellowship, worship, encouragement, great food, and fun while giving all the glory to God.

The fundraiser will be taking place alongside the Classic Car Show, so there will be even more to enjoy throughout the evening! Two great events, one great location, and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your family and community.

We’re honored to support this ministry, and 10% of every purchase at Lemonanigans during the event will be donated to help support the 2027 Caldwell County Faith Fair coming this May.

If you’re one of our Lemonanigans family, or simply someone looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday evening, I hope you’ll join us. Come enjoy an amazing meal, listen to live music, let the kids have fun, admire the beautiful classic cars, and most importantly, support a ministry that is investing in the spiritual life of our community.

Let’s show what can happen when churches, local businesses, and our community come together in faith. We can’t wait to serve you.

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31 ❤️

Please, please spay and neuter😔 Be part of the solution, let’s help break the cycle🙏🏽🐾🫶🏽

💔 These kittens came from a situation I had to walk away from several months ago.

I know that probably sounds awful. Believe me, it wasn't a decision I made lightly.

The truth is, if someone isn't willing to communicate with me or participate in the solution, I have to move on. There are so many people who are willing to work together, and there is no shortage of cats who desperately need help.

I reached out over and over, offering free spay/neuter and transportation. The last time I was there, I was holding a dying kitten in my hands while the resident cried. I explained that this cycle would continue unless we got the adult cats spayed and neutered. I promised to help every step of the way.

She agreed. She told me she would work with me this time.

I also explained that if she stopped communicating with me again, I couldn't keep coming back every time there was another emergency. I never heard from her again. 😭

And now... here we are.

This is one of the hardest lessons in rescue: you cannot rescue your way out of a situation if the source of the problem is never addressed.

I refuse to keep collecting sick and dying kittens while being prevented from doing the one thing that will stop the suffering—TNR.

At some point, continuing to respond to emergencies without being allowed to prevent the next one doesn't make you a helper anymore.

It makes you an enabler.

That's a heartbreaking place to be, but it's a boundary every rescuer eventually has to learn.

For those wondering, Animal Control has been notified.

Please understand that rescue isn't just about saying "yes." Sometimes the hardest act of compassion is refusing to participate in a cycle that will never end unless someone is willing to break it. 💔
