The boss lady refuses to deal with bucket calves. This cow has done an outstanding job this summer with a nice set of twins while keeping herself in great shape.

Each year we honor one bull that has earned a place in Nebraska Hereford history. This year we select L1 Domino G081, also known as "Metric", who was the top selling bull in the 1981 Nebraska Showcase Sale in North Platte. The following year, he was selected the Grand Champion Hereford bull at the National Western Livestock Show in Denver. Metric was bred by Ridder Herefords at Callaway, and owned with Diamond Ring Herefords of Taylor.

The painting of Metric was the work of Kirby Mousel of Central City. Kirby is a member of the Mousel family that has contributed so much to Nebraska Hereford history; the painting will be proudly displayed at the Sandhills Heritage Museum in Dunning.
