*Rabies Awareness*
We have been notified that there has been a recent rise in Rabies cases here on the mountain. As the weather warms up and spending time outdoors becomes more common, please remember to be vigilant of wildlife. If you notice any wildlife that are acting out of the ordinary: overly friendly, showing no fear of human contact, stumbling or disoriented. Protect yourself and your pets by avoiding these animals and contacting Game & Fish to report the activity.
Rabies Virus is present in Arizona and dangerous. Please remember to have your pets vaccinated appropriately by a licensed veterinarian for their safety and yours. In the State of Arizona it is required for all canines to be vaccinated first with a 1 year Rabies Vaccine then Followed up every 3 years with a booster Rabies Vaccine. We recommend vaccinating Dogs and Cats as early as 16 weeks of age and continuing with the protocol for Rabies Vaccine. For horses or any equine who will be exposed to wilderness areas it is recommended to vaccinate for Rabies annually [once a year].
