Well it’s been a busy spring, but I didn’t want to not honor this sweet girl. A friend and I rescued her and her brother from a farm in kolona covered in ticks. The owner seemed to just not want them and not have time for them. I don’t think he was a bad person, just wanted them gone. My friend took the boy home and we cared for this little girl for about a week before she went to live with another friend on the same farm as Chupi, the little pup we rescued from Georgia a few years ago. She is now Chupi’s sister Chloe and has a wonderful family and life. I love matching animals to their families. I’ve done it so many times both through breeding and rescuing. The goal is healthy happy pets, livestock, and humans. We are just animal lovers through and through. Our house is forever being tracked with dirt and hair. Our yard is dug up in places by dogs or chickens. There is always a coop, shelter, brooder, cat box, or yard to scoop poo out of. But our hearts are always full of fur and feather cuddles and there are lessons learned about forever care, livestock that provides sustenance, and those that we can’t keep forever and get to find wonderful homes for. Farm chores build character. My kids may decide to live differently when they grow up or not, but i hope the nutrition and lessons will last throughout their lives.
