4 years ago today, this beautiful girl entered our lives. She belonged to a friend of mine who was a huge animal lover.
Sadly, 7 months after adopting her, he passed of cancer (Rest in Heaven Raymond).

When I received the call of his passing, the first thing I asked was “where are his pets?” He had two dogs, but his work buddies that received the call first, sent his other pup to the shelter, and kept Star.

We tried our hardest to fight with the shelter to get the other pup, taking it all the way up to the director, but it was a losing battle. The moment he was sent to the shelter, he was fostered and after the 3 day hold for immediate family to claim, the foster had first right of refusal.

Long story short, we were able to adopt Star. And she’s been a shining Star in our lives. She’s such a beautiful soul and we are so blessed to have her. ❤️
