After much reflection I have decided to close the shop doors on September 9th.

No, I don't have a buyer yet. But I do hope there will be one by then! I will make sure to keep you informed.

After 14 amazing years it is time for a new adventure. I can't adequately express how much your support has meant to me over the years. From my start as a new groomer and business owner to my father passing to this new chapter, you have been here through it all. Thank you.

JAKE IS HOME! THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED!!!

These boys managed to find the one weak area of the fence and went for a walk-about yesterday from Town House Road in Effingham. Jake (red collar) is still missing but Elwood (blue collar) is safe at home. Both are chipped and while wary of strangers are very nice dogs. Any sightings please call Susan at (917) 902-3012.

Fake “service dogs” hurt real teams.
According to the *Paws for Access* report, 65% of real assistance dog handlers face skepticism—and many are even forced to justify their need for their dog.

At ACTS, we train and certify dogs to ADI standards. That means our teams are held to the highest levels of training and behavior. But they still face challenges caused by untrained dogs wearing fake vests.

Let’s clear the confusion.
✅ Only dogs trained to perform specific disability-related tasks qualify as assistance dogs.
🚫 Emotional support animals are not the same.

🐾🌼Spring is here, so be expecting emails and reminder phone calls from your vet, encouraging you to schedule your spring wellness visit (please do this)—but watch my latest interview with UW-Madison vet school professor Dr. Laurie Larson, first! Dr. Larson is an expert in antibody titer testing, and thankfully, the conversation about vaccinations 💉has evolved, especially regarding how frequently our pets truly need them. In my interview, Dr. Larson provides an in-depth look at how titers can guide more personalized and scientifically sound vaccination decisions, protecting our pets without the risk of over-vaccinating.
Veterinarians have accounts with nation-wide veterinary laboratories (Antech and/or Idexx) that provide parvo and distemper titer testing services, so all vets can perform them, however, the most inexpensive lab I have found for parvo/distemper titers is the Companion Animal Vaccine and Immuno Diagnostic Service Laboratory (CAVIDS) at the UW-Madison vet school.
