How long does it take for birds to grow?

One of the most common questions from the general public.

When you tell them that within 10-16 weeks they reach full size (with the exception of Hyacinths and a few other big guys) people seem shocked.

Birds must be able to fly and fend for themselves very quickly otherwise predators will find their nesting spots and have at it.

This beautiful Cuban Amazon was born June 1st 2025! Here we are 10 weeks later and she is just about fully weaned. The daily growth of a baby parrot is incredible to witness. Each week you’re dealing with a different bird as their bodies hit milestones that would take us many months & years to reach!
