Fun cow case! 🐄

Miss Daisy is a 10 year old Angus/Hereford cow who developed a rapidly growing mass between her lower eyelid and eyeball. This was a procedure we had never done before, but felt confident we could remove the mass with margins…and we did!

Happy to hear this big girl is doing just fine and has healed up well post-op 🐮

🐶 Puppy Fact of the Day!
Newborn puppies are born with their eyes and ears closed 👀👂 — they rely completely on touch and smell to find warmth and their mother during the first two weeks of life. Around 10–14 days old, their eyes begin to open, followed shortly by their ears. This is when their little world starts to come alive! 🌎✨

Sleep is also a huge part of their growth — puppies can snooze up to 22 hours a day in these early stages as their brains and bodies rapidly develop. 💤💙

With gentle handling and lots of love (like this cuddle session), they get the safest start possible. 💕

Interesting equine case to share! 🐎

Ann is a 22 year old Missouri Foxtrotter who initially presented with glaucoma, secondary to a painful condition called Recurrent Equine Uveitis. We treated Ann with different cocktails of ophthalmic medications, and Dr. Shrode performed an intravitreal injection of gentamycin and dexamethasone. While Ann initially responded to this procedure and meds quite well, her ERU came back within months unfortunately.

So her owners opted for enucleation, which means surgical removal of the eye.

Ann’s surgery was a success, she recovered beautifully and is once again a happy, gaited girl! ❤️
