🐾 Today is Check the Chip Day!
A quick PSA: if your pet is microchipped, check that your contact information is up to date in the microchip registry.

If you’ve moved or changed phone numbers, update it! It’s often free and could make all the difference if your pet ever gets lost.

If your pet isn’t microchipped yet, talk to your vet or local shelter about it. It’s a simple, inexpensive procedure that can reunite families.

Microchipping pets (and keeping info current) means fewer lost animals on the streets and fewer ending up in shelters. It goes hand-in-hand with spay/neuter and other responsible pet ownership steps to reduce homeless pets.

Every little action helps! Double-check that chip! ✅

Here’s a serious fact behind the cuteness: un-spayed cats can have multiple litters a year, which contributes to thousands of homeless kittens.

Spaying your cat by about 5 months old can prevent those surprise litters and keep her healthier. In fact, spaying helps prevent certain cancers and infections in female cats

So as we celebrate kittens today, remember: the best way to honor our feline friends is to “Fix” them for a healthier, happier life and fewer kittens in shelters. Give your kitty some extra snuggles today! 💕🐾

☀️🌡️ Summer in Florida is HOT, and our pets feel it too! July is Pet Hydration Awareness Month, so here’s your friendly reminder to keep Fido and Fluffy cool and hydrated.

1: Always have fresh, cool water available – at home and on walks.

2: Avoid midday heat; walk during cooler mornings/evenings and test surfaces with your hand (if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws!).

3: Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a minute. Heatstroke can happen fast.

Keeping pets hydrated and safe in hot weather is critical for their health. Let’s help our fur-friends beat the heat! 🐶💧🐱

Happy Fourth of July! While we enjoy the celebrations, remember that fireworks can be scary for our pets.

🐾 Here are a few tips to keep your cats and dogs safe and calm tonight: Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure room – many pets try to run from loud noises.

🐾 ID your pet – make sure they’re microchipped and wearing a tag (just in case).

🐾 Create a comfy safe space with their bed or crate, and maybe play soft music to mask booms.

🐾 Avoid giving table scraps from BBQs that could upset their tummy.

🐾 Your pet’s safety = your peace of mind. Have a great (and safe) Independence Day! 🇺🇸🐶🐱

It’s National ID Your Pet Day! 🏷️ Did you know microchipping and ID tags can be a lifesaver if your pet ever gets lost?

Make sure your furry friend has up-to-date ID. A microchip (with current contact info) + a collar tag greatly increase the chances of a lost pet reuniting with its owner.
