This is one of the best genetically bred dog I've packed with in my life. I've always been lucky w all my personal dogs. This guy was truly a gift. Eros was a full mouth biter when full mouth biters were somewhat rare. In the past many of the great dogs were half mouth biters. It was not uncommon to work n teach the full mouth grip. Eros had it all, especially nerves of steel, and extreme drives, encapsuled within a perfectly balanced, high social aggression , which poured out into fighting the man. He dominated and control the fight. At that time there were a hand full of agitators that could work him. His hold n bark were pure aggression, staring right into the helper face. It was close up n personal. Eros literally stood on hind leg as he bulleted his head in and out of the helper's face. In S. Florida he acquired the nick-name Evil Dog. Although he wasn't evil, simply strong. A true War Dog. He was 85 lbs of compact bones, muscles, and tendons. His bite pressure was that of a dog possessing a shorter snout like a good pit bull. I eventually was forced to stop working hold n bark on most helpers. I honestly worried someone would get hurt. I have many war stories about him...especially in the northern states of New Jersey, PA, Conn, NY...I used him in training group police dogs. He was feared and I used him to demonstrate technique. In this foto I was training a new helper. one can notice the man's body n facial expressions. This particular person trusted me n was himself a natrual helper. Back until 85 or 86 There was no breaking down to slowly accustom a person to be a helper. Its just the way it was. His name was Eros Von der Boilermuller. He was sch 2, police type working dog. we did search n rescue w the Luzerne County sheriff's dept, in PA. He worked drug detection and was mainly a demo dog. At that time, I met Sergeant Joel Trella. Joel, was a police dog trainer n USPCA Trial judge.
It was great for me finding this foto. I put him down at 13 yrs of age allowing him to go out with dignity.
