Marshmallow, a 4-month-old kitten, suffered a traumatic injury after a fall, needing surgical repair to stabilize the joint and allow proper healing. The recommended treatment plan includes anesthesia, orthopedic surgery, post-operative antibiotics, and pain management. With the procedure, the veterinarian expects a full recovery and a good prognosis for Marshmallow to regain normal use of his hind leg. Unfortunately his family cannot afford the cost of treatment and asked Frankie’s Friends for help.

“I am a single parent of four children. I work full-time as a community support partner while also caring for my family and my son with special needs… The unexpected cost of Marshmallow’s injury has created a financial strain, but I’m doing my best to get her the care she needs.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Frankie’s Friends and the donors for your generosity and compassion. Knowing that there are people who care and want to help families like mine gives me so much hope.”

After the recent typhoon tore through western Alaska, we were devastated to hear that families were forced to leave not only their homes, but their beloved pets behind. Today we made a disaster relief grant to support the work of Bethel Friends of Canines who has been working tirelessly to rescue and reunite these pets with their families. Thank you to the volunteers, the animal advocates, and the community for helping these beloved families and ensuring no pet gets left behind.

HELP! Frenchie puppy Boosie needs surgery in Minnesota TODAY! His family said, “my puppy hasn’t even turned 1 yet and he’s already suffering from a broken leg.. he’s so loveable and full of energy and him not being able to walk and run is literally breaking my heart! He’s such a good boy and so sweet he doesn’t deserve leg amputation so please consider helping me out I have had a lot of financial struggles in my life and I know I can’t afford much but I don’t want my dog to suffer because I can not afford to pay for his surgery!”

HELP! Molly the golden retriever needs emergency surgery TODAY. Her dad said,
“I am writing to request financial assistance for my dog’s emergency spay surgery. My dog requires this procedure urgently due to a medical emergency, and delaying it could seriously endanger her health and well-being.
Unfortunately, I am unable to afford the cost of this surgery at this time. I am currently living on Social Security Disability benefits, which cover only my basic living expenses such as housing, utilities, and food. I do not have any additional income or savings to cover unexpected veterinary costs. My dog is an important part of my life and provides me with companionship and emotional support, especially as I navigate the challenges of living with a disability. I am deeply concerned for her health and am doing everything I can to ensure she receives the care she needs.”

HELP! Mia needs surgery TODAY! Her mom said her “eye has been infected for 2 years, after multiple treatments and medications both oral and topical, the treatments have not helped and now here eye is bulging for the socket , bleeding and oozing. Her eye needs to be removed asap.

I am a mom of 2, I am on government assistance… we are barely getting by, we can not even afford our bills. I just had to use bill money to pay for the visit today at the vet that was almost $300. That was my car payment money. I am praying for a miracle to help my baby as she is in so much pain. I do not want to have to surrender her for her to get the help she so desperately needs. She needs this surgery Asap.”

Vet techs are not just your pet's nurses, but also their anesthetist, phlebotomist, dental hygienist, surgical assistant, paw holder, chief snuggler, medication giver, treat provider, and all around SUPER HERO. Vet techs have stressful jobs, but they do it for the love of animals, and without the credit they deserve! We can't thank them enough!
