Only 2 spots left in our summer TrickBun I class!! Get your spot before your miss out! This LIVE course takes place over Zoom. We'll have students joining us from 3 different countries this class! Even if you are in a part of the world where our live course is in the middle of the night, you can STILL be a part of class! Each class is recorded and sent to the participants. This means that you and your bun can miss a live class without missing out!

If you are new to clicker training (or your bunny is), this is the PERFECT place to start! You will learn how to teach your bun 15 new tricks over the course of our 6 week class. Live classes take place Tuesday nights at 7:30pm EST, starting THIS Tuesday!!

Our this week is on another of our rescue labs in training: Perla! Perla was surrendered after her family had to leave the country. She is currently learning how to feel comfortable wearing a harness. In this video, you can see her gradually getting a bit more open to the process!

Happy ! Today’s tip is to break behavior down into small steps!

Begin teaching something by starting with the most likely thing you can teach your pet! If it’s teaching your dog to sit, reward them first for following a treat with their nose. If it’s teaching your cat to follow a target, teach them to touch the target when it is right next to them first.

Tula learned how to jump on her pedestal a long time ago, but suddenly, she seemed very reluctant to do it. I’m not sure what happened, but I knew how to fix it! First, I took the cover off of the pedestal and taught her to walk onto that. Once she was good at that, I put it back on the pedestal and rewarded her for sniffing it, the placing her chin on it, then her front paws, the reaching, and finally jumping up!!

Knowing how to break a behavior into small steps is key to preventing frustration and creating success!! We cover all of this in our upcoming TrickBun I class, breaking down 15 tricks into tiny steps to guide you towards success for each one!! Below are the deets:

-Class is 6 weeks
-Class is Tuesday nights at 7:30pm EST
-Taught over Zoom and recorded
-Learn 15 new tricks with your rabbit!
-Registration is $150, with a portion going to Rabbit Rescue

Our today is on Max!! Max is a rescue whose parents called us because he is quite reactive to a variety of things. One of his challenges was going out for a walk-he’d explode in barking, expecting the worst, once he left the house, even if no one was there!

We’ve worked on having him watch passers by on the front porch, pairing them with treats. This provides Max with distance from triggers that he can handle, and allows us lots of time to see things come before he does. This allows us to get ready and ensure our clicker timing is on point!

What is she so excited about?

She heard me prepping for a training session 🤣

Tula, like all bunnies, is a smart, perceptive soul who really enjoys learning new things!!

As my work has picked up, training sessions have become less frequent than they used to be.

And she very clearly has missed them.

I don’t skip feedings, cleanings or vet visits, yet I’ve relaxed my attention to her mental health. At nearly 9 years old, this is not something that benefits her in any way.

I’m not making time-I’m rearranging my priorities. Her happiness and her welfare are worth it to me!! Rabbits are intelligent and social animals who benefit so much from learning new things. Tula is clearly SCREAMING that with her behavior!!
