Our today is on Max!! Max is a rescue whose parents called us because he is quite reactive to a variety of things. One of his challenges was going out for a walk-he’d explode in barking, expecting the worst, once he left the house, even if no one was there!

We’ve worked on having him watch passers by on the front porch, pairing them with treats. This provides Max with distance from triggers that he can handle, and allows us lots of time to see things come before he does. This allows us to get ready and ensure our clicker timing is on point!

What is she so excited about?

She heard me prepping for a training session 🤣

Tula, like all bunnies, is a smart, perceptive soul who really enjoys learning new things!!

As my work has picked up, training sessions have become less frequent than they used to be.

And she very clearly has missed them.

I don’t skip feedings, cleanings or vet visits, yet I’ve relaxed my attention to her mental health. At nearly 9 years old, this is not something that benefits her in any way.

I’m not making time-I’m rearranging my priorities. Her happiness and her welfare are worth it to me!! Rabbits are intelligent and social animals who benefit so much from learning new things. Tula is clearly SCREAMING that with her behavior!!

Our this week is on Aries!! He just successfully completed his training package, where we focused on helping him feel more comfortable with strangers coming into his home.

When Aries moved into a new house, he suddenly was no longer receptive to visitors, something he wasn’t doing in his previous apartment. Sometimes our pet’s behavior changes when they change settings. We may not always know why, but we can always make it better!!

Teaching Aries a specific way of meeting people allowed him to predict what was going to happen. A lot of fears are alleviated once we develop a way to tell our dog what is going to happen next.

Aries not only SMASHED his final test with a meet and greet with a visitor, but also greeted a solicitor who approached us right after!!

Thanks to his mom’s dedication to his training, Aries is now much more welcoming of people into his home!!

Happy !

We’ve been talking up trick training for bunnies quite a bit lately, but dogs love it, too!! Trick training is also a great way to beat the heat and the storms this summer!

Working the brain is far more exhausting than working the body, and that’s why we love trading walks for tricks in the summertime. (Okay, really all the time, but man does it come in handy when it’s 9000 degrees out!)

Our trick students’ parents report high instances of long naps after our 30 minute trick sessions! If you are dreading that midday walk in the heat or frustrated by getting rained out, our summer camp for dogs can take that off of your plate!!

Here’s how it works

-We start with a quick potty break
-You choose the focus for your dog: Scentwork or Trick Training (some packages include both so your pup can learn what they like best!)
-Play, enrichment and training for 30 minutes
-3 visits/week
-Camp comes in 3 forms: 1 week or 2 weeks (tricks or scentwork), or 1 month (trick/scentwork combo)
-Weather-independent because we come to you!! Scorch or storm, your pup still gets their dedicated time!
