Michael was a 9 year old boy that was viciously mauled to death by 2 pitbulls.

I’m not sharing this to shame pitbulls

I don’t care if you love or hate pitbulls

Michael and his family deserve Justice and that’s not happening

The same thing happened to a lady in Brevard County and the owner of the dogs was immediately arrested.

Why has Brandy Hodill and Amanda Franco not been charged with manslaughter??

I used to try giving my dog baths in the bathtub
 and it was a disaster 😂

They’d try to run away, water everywhere, hair all over the tub. So I started bathing them outside instead.

Way easier to control the mess and way less cleanup.

I keep the dog on a leash so they can’t run off, especially since most dogs don’t enjoy baths. I also started using a place cot to keep them off the grass and dirt so they don’t get muddy right after.

Simple setup. Less stress. Cleaner dog.

Dog parks are bad news

I too used to frequent dog parks because I thought it was good for my dogs and I enjoyed watching all the goofy dogs

What I soon realized was “every time I come here there’s a dog fight”

Or I’d see ppl yelling for their dog to stop doing something bad and their dog wouldn’t listen

Dog parks are also super gross and if they’re not cleaned often then you’re subjecting your dogs to all kinds of bacteria

Stop going to dog parks and just play with your dogs

If your dog can’t be trusted to roam the house without damaging anything or eating something they’re not supposed to they should be kenneled

This is not mean. This is not hurting your dog. It’s super important.

Using the excuse, my dog hates the kennel or my dog cries in the kennel. He’s not a good excuse we have to teach them to be able to hang out and settle.

Most dog training issues can be resolved with kenneling your dog and overall management

Potty training
Destructive behavior
Anxiety
Over excitement/overstimulation
Barking at the door
Barking at people walking down the street

If you don’t currently use a kennel I highly recommend you start

Do you know how to properly carry your dog without injuring yourself or your dog?

Knowing how to Carry your dog is a really important task to learn. If your dog has a heat injury or if they tear their paw pad or even if the ground is just way too hot for them to walk on, you need to know how to carry your dog

It’s important to keep positive control of your dog so keep the leash on and when necessary you can hold onto the collar as well.

You’re going to use your arms and place them one under your dogs, chest and one under your dogs hips you’re going to squat and lift them up

Depending on your dog size, you might even be able to hold your hands to help support the dogs weight and make it easier for movement

Most people never think twice about letting their dog ride loose in the car
 until something happens.

Even slamming on the brakes at 35 mph can send your dog flying across the vehicle. Your dog can lose balance, hit the seats, dashboard, windows, center console, or even you while you’re trying to control the car.

And if you get into an actual accident?

A loose dog becomes a projectile.

Not only can your dog suffer severe injuries, but they can also cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle by crashing into the steering wheel, pedals, or passengers. It’s dangerous for everyone inside the car.

This is one of the biggest reasons kennel training matters.

A properly secured kennel gives your dog structure, safety, and protection while traveling. It keeps them contained, prevents distractions while driving, and greatly reduces the chances of serious injury during sudden stops or collisions.

At minimum, your dog should be secured with a crash-tested seatbelt restraint.

But if possible, I strongly recommend using a kennel system designed for vehicle travel.

Some of the most popular options are RuffLand, Dakota 283, and Gunner.

Your dog depends on you to protect them everywhere including on the road.
