My name is Jan Halas Stenger. I am a dog mom, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, dog rescuer and now pet sitter! I had been sitting for friends here and there, but my time was limited, as my 15 year old golden was sick with cancer and needed tending to every few hours. Now that Max has passed and it has become time for me to find work, I decided I would rather spend time with animals than with people

! (No offense!) I myself know how hard it is to put your trust in someone when it comes to your furkids.Which is why my husband and I have not been away together in over 2 years! We are the proud parents to the fabulous Frances, a blind bulldog mix. I never knew the joy of living with dogs until I started dating my husband Eric in 1997. He had a mutt named Charly and she was fabulous! A few years later we got Max, our perfect golden boy! Six years later we added a crazy doodle to the mix, Oliver! We lost Charly that same year. A few years later Bowden, a yellow lab came into our lives. Bowden passed in 2014. Frances came into our lives, thanks to 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida, in March 2015. Oliver would be gone by June. Now it was just old man Max and the blind bully princess, Frances. Max got sick in August and passed in November of 2016. Now we have an only child and she seems to like it that way! At least for now. Services I offer: Pet sitting, overnight stays, midday walks or potty breaks, medicine dispensing, vet visits, etc.

Don’t forget to make sure you have meds if your animals will need it for the fireworks! It’s happening over a weekend!

As pet sitters, it always hurts your heart when a client’s fur baby passes. They all take a little piece of us with them. This kid was different. He took a BIG chunk! We have spent lots of time with him and his sisters over the years. I was around when he was rescued by 100+. I literally felt his life slipping away as I held him in my lap on the way to the emergency vet. He proved to all of us what a fighter he was - from that moment right up until the end of his journey. He loved life and lived it to the fullest! Iguanas and all! 🤦🏼 He loved his mommies and sisters immensely, as they did him. Please keep them in your prayers. Run free, Murph. I’m sure there were LOTS of silver balls waiting for you across the bridge. ❤️🐶🐾💔🌈 Love, Auntie & Uncle.

Ms. Robinson’s 10-year-old Golden Retriever, Puppers, had a ruptured tumor on her spleen, resulting in severe internal bleeding.
