I am planning to create three hour retreats for people who need to have a place to reconnect with a sense of peace and quiet that at times can be elusive during the pandemic. I would teach skills for you to feel peaceful, and then have you invite a horse into your peaceful space. Please let me know if you are interested. As I have three horses and three separate areas, I think we can stay safe with two people per horse, so a total of six. I want to start mid-March. You can come to one or more!

Peggy Jordan and I are both certified under this wonderful program. Peggy has an advanced certification as equine specialist, and I have a certification plus am licensed as clinical psychologist.

We know Eagala isn't the only mental health service out there. It can be overwhelming to sort through all the different options.

So to make things easier, here are the "cliff notes" on Eagala:

1) The Eagala Model is a team approach that includes a licensed, credentialed Mental Health Professional, a qualified Equine Specialist, and horses working together with the client in an arena at all times.

2) All work is done on the ground. The horses are front and center, deliberately unhindered and never ridden, and allowed to interact with the client as they wish. This creates the space for the client, with the support of the professional facilitators, to reflect, project, and make deep connections.

3) We provide mental health and personal development services incorporating horses. Horses are intelligent prey animals who instinctively analyze and react to our nonverbal cues providing us with valuable insights for other areas of our lives.
