Have you ever seen a Lory/Lorikeet tongue? They are brush tipped and designed to lap nectar and pollen from flowers. Their digestive physiology is not built for dry, compacted foods, even if marketed as ‘lorikeet pellets.’

The entire anatomy of a lorikeet from their tongues to their rapid gut transit is adapted for a liquid/high-moisture low-fat food diet. Offering seeds and/or pellets stresses their digestive system and can cause long term harm.

That is why I exclusively feed my birds Lories Choice Premium Lory Food

They get the maintenance nectar in the morning and the cuisine nectar in the afternoon along with fresh fruits and flowers grown on the farm. They especially love bottlebrush flowers and hibiscus.
