We are an open-admission municipal animal shelter owned and operated by the City of Tallahassee, and serving the surrounding communities. Our mission is simple; we work to protect the public and the welfare of all the animals in our community. We're hoping someone will give this handsome boy a chance through our Trial Run Program — take Wiley home for a few days, get to know him, and see if he's the right fit before adopting!

Foster Friday Transformation

Long before they show up on our website or adoption ward, many of our kittens spend their first few weeks in a foster home. Foster care gives these little guys the chance to grow up, recover from illness, and figure out how to be a cat until they are old enough for adoption.

Whether they've been orphaned, injured, or need some extra help in their first weeks of life, underage kittens rely on our team of foster parents who are ready to step in with lots of food, cuddles, and love.

But with kitten season continuing to ramp up and our foster homes filling up, we are always looking for more people to join our team and offer a safe place for kittens to go.

Sweetie pie Shay was welcomed into a foster home recently, where she continues to steal everyone’s hearts. Shay has never met a stranger and loves to love! A lap dog at heart, she enjoys spending time close to her people, whether she’s napping, playing, or coming along for an adventure out and about.

👍 Knows sit, stay, come, and paw
