I know it's been super quiet on our page for a while and I apologize. In March I had to have a major surgery that has taken a lot to recover from. And then along came the summer tourist season and I've been juggling 3 jobs. Thankfully fall is here and that means things will slow down and mushing will be in full swing soon!
This season I am taking time off from providing collars because I will be joining Lauren Abken out on the trail during Iditarod to help out on the "p*e team" and assist with dropped dog care. This is a dream come true for me! We will fly out from Anchorage the day after Iditarod starts and hop from remote village to remote village along the trail. We will be out there roughly 2 weeks. I feel truly blessed to get to be a part of this!
Transportation is covered as we are a volunteer team. I do need to get gear for the trip. If anyone would like to help out with anything on the list below, I'd be beyond grateful. This is my first real (longer than 2 or 3 nights) cold weather expedition and the first time I've gotten to volunteer on the Iditarod trail 💚
