Been a while since I’ve put this out fresh I keep it pinned at top of the page but I know that’s easy to miss. So here it is and with an update comes something you probably didn’t expect. A price drop on pups!!! I’m not sure how long this will last so now is the time. I’ve given it a fair bit of thought last few months and decided with prices on everything going up. I’d drop mine for a while.

Our Guarantee and Conditions (Working Homes Only)
Located in East Tennessee We strive to produce the highest quality working dachshunds absolutely possible but even with proven dogs things still happen. So every Southern Fire pup comes with a 12 month old guarantee against any genetic issues. Also a will to work guarantee. What that entails any genetic problem I must receive diagnosis in detail from your vet. That will then be shared with my vet who will make the final assessment. Pup with genetic disorder must be returned to me and ownership reverted back to me. Then you will be eligible to receive a new pup from the next litter we produce. Absolutely no monetary refunds only replacements with returned ownership of current dog.

Will to work guarantee is also 12 months old. You must return pup to me for a evaluation. I will then make a determination on breeding or training being the cause of the issue. ( You can not expect to put pup in kennel or cooped up in house all year then it magically track a wounded deer or run a rabbit when season comes around) If I feel the dog lacks the drive required ownership will revert to me. You then will be eligible for first possible pick from our next litter. We hope to always produce fantastic pups for many years to come and look forward to continuing that journey with new and current owners.

Conditions
All pups will be sold with only LIMITED AKC REGISTRATION (this means pup will not be able to be bred and have pups registered through AKC). Pups will be picked by me for each individual home. I'm spending every day with pups until they go home so I am able to see more of their individual personalities then new owner can from a picture or video. They will also be named on their permanent registration by using alphabetical litter order. For example litter A female pup would look something like Anna Vom Southern Fire.


Prices are $1700.00 total and you must send in a $400 deposit to be placed on waiting list,this guarantees your place in line. Pups must be paid for in whole by 8 weeks old and picked up no later than 9 weeks. The chances of a pup coming available without doing this while not impossible is very unlikely. Deposits are NONREFUNDABLE Things can happen small litters, deaths in litters or failed breedings no way to guarantee a specific litter. Anything on my end be it not enough pups or issues with litter your deposit transfers to next available pup which will depend where you’re at on waiting list. I know waiting isn’t fun but it is only fair way to do things. Thank you for understanding

Anyone that has been waiting for the wait list to get dwindled down. Now is the perfect time to get on it. A couple great breedings coming up means if you get on now and things go to plan you’ll have a pup to work with before Christmas! Good time for a few recent pictures and a few old ones too!! Reaper absolutely killing it with the obedience I’ve been meaning to post a video for a few weeks. So walking through the kitchen a stray Amazon box caught my eye and I took advantage of the moment. A well trained hunting dog is so much more enjoyable in the field. Obedience and socializing are two key components to the full puzzle. Unfortunately both tend to be the easiest to overlook for a lot of folks. Put a handle on your dog and throw new situations at it constantly from a young age. I promise you won’t regret it!

It’s all fun and games until the Hobbits go to ground unexpectedly. This is why you don’t let a high drive well bred dachshund (or terrier) have much unsupervised time they will get in trouble. I got close enough hear her. Two holes and a hour later she drew the possum out just far enough for me to reach in. Fun times !! This is a lesson I already knew I’d blame it on kids for letting her out without me knowing but that’s too easy 🤣

I’m late in doing so but big shout out and congratulations to Keith Salyer and Oakley.

If any of y’all with pups from us has finished any test over last year and I haven’t given you a shout out. I apologize with the house move and everything else life has been hectic. So having said that if I haven’t send me some pictures and tell me about it. I’d love to show case all your hard work on here.

Jon Saylor of Whiskey Bent Tracking had the opportunity this weekend at TRACKLAHOMA 2025 to serve as the line judge as an apprentice under Judge Raymond Holohan of Illinois Deer Tracker’s Network, alongside Apprentice Judge Dean Satterwhite of Kansas, for Keith Salyer’s UBT-1 evaluation 🏅.

Keith, from Oklahoma, handling his wirehaired dachshund, Oakley 🐾—who hails from Southern Fire—took to the field for their UBT-1 certification with United Blood Trackers during the event held by Oklahoma Blood Trackers Association at Lake Arcadia in Edmond, Oklahoma 🌳.

Handlers may notice the unique lead Keith used during his track. After trying multiple options, Oakley’s habit of chewing through leads led to one creative solution: a clothesline cable 🧠. It’s the only thing tough enough to hold up to her.

Oakley worked the line fast and focused—methodical, sharp, and never more than a yard off the track 🎯. She even let out a few yips when Keith wasn’t moving fast enough for her liking. Despite one or two brief tangles, Keith stayed back and let Oakley work her magic.
