🐾 Saturday Happy Tails from Capone! 🐾

When Capone met his new family, there was no hesitation. He jumped right into the car like he knew: these were his people now. ❤️

In the shelter, Capone was anxious, but just a few days into his new life, everything changed. No more nerves, just tail wags, confidence, and companionship.

“In less than a week, he showed he is fantastic on a leash! He trots next to me on runs, loves hikes, and our nightly neighborhood walks.”

Now this big, beautiful, big-headed baby is living his best life, soaking up love and adventure with the people who adore him.

“We haven’t regretted anything. We love calling him ours.”

Capone didn’t need a warm-up phase, he just needed someone to believe in him.

From curated pet care advice and downloadable medical records to exclusive discounts from partners like Hill’s Pet Nutrition, VCA Animal Hospitals, GoodPup, and more, Petszel is your one-stop shop for post-adoption support.

Adopters will also receive helpful check-ins through automated surveys starting on day one, then after a week, monthly for six months, and again at the one-year mark. These check-ins keep us connected and help pets stay in loving homes. ❤️

This extra layer of support for our adopters will help set every dog, cat, and their new families up for success in the home.

Beam them up, Scotty!

Meet Captain Kirk and Spock 🖖 These two smiley husky boys have been making amazing strides thanks to our amazing volunteers, fosters, and staff!

When they first came in, they hid in the back of their kennels and weren't sure if they could trust these new humans in this new scary place. But through patience and dedication, our team started to make progress!

Now, Captain Kirk and Spock have been making new friends - both human and canine.

Spock, the grey husky, has been more brave and warmed up the quickest. Captain Kirk, the brown husky, has been going more at his own pace, but has made some breakthroughs with seeking attention from human pals recently! Overall, we are just so proud of their progress 💚

Both of these boys go to play groups regularly and do really well with fellow dog friends. Captain Kirk and Spock are not a bonded pair, but they should definitely go to a home that has another dog companion.

We are excited to be joining Foster 50, a national program designed to increase pet fostering across the United States!

Calla and her foster family are an amazing look at why fostering is so important! This sweet senior girl arrived at our shelter with a painful skin infection and in need of extra TLC. A foster home gave her exactly that, a calm, cozy place to heal and feel safe again. Now she’s thriving, and it’s all thanks to her foster family!

When you foster, you give pets like Calla a second chance. 💚

Molly - AKA the fuzzy bowling ball with a classic case of RBF 😒

This little lady can apparently be a little particular about who she interacts with. We're not exactly sure what her criteria is, but some folks seem to immediately pass her approval test and are promptly showered with head butts (see image 2 as proof) while others need to work for her affection.

We'll be honest, when you're chosen, it does feel like you've achieved the highest honor! 🥇

Outside of her seemingly random affection towards humans, Molly does enjoy a good window perch and cozy hidey beds. 😴
