July 5th at Titlow Park
The aftermath at Titlow Park on the morning of July 5th was very grim. The illegal nightime users left the park in a mess. Three volunteers and 3 park employees cleaned up the park. Only two of us cleaned up the beaches.

I did post on nextdoor.com about a Community Clean-Up for Titlow Park for July 5th, but only one volunteer showed up this year.

Titlow Park needs more volunteers to help keep this delightful waterfront park clean year round. The next time you visit Titlow, pack a few small plastic bags and help pick up the litter that is spread throughout the park, including the beaches.

I am taking a break from Titlow after 7 years of year round VOLUNTEER litter pick up. This park needs more user support to pick up after the litterbugs and non-dog p**p scoopers who visit the park on a daily basis.

A BIG thank you to the 13 volunteers who helped tidy up Titlow Park this morning. Seven teens and six adults. Yeah!!!!

Titlow was is pretty good shape after the 4th of July 2021 as Metro Parks placed security at the beach entrance last night. This stopped the beach traffic so reported a nearby resident 😊 The 3 beaches were in the best shape I have ever seen them on the 5th of July.

With 13 helping hands, the park and 6th Ave was cleaned up in 2 hours flat.

As one volunteer said, Pride resides in the Neighborhood. 🌏

July 5th Titlow Park Community Clean Up.
West End Litter Free 253 and Metro Parks are sponsoring a community clean-up of Titlow Park and its three beautiful beaches on the morning of July 5th.

Metro Park will provide trash sacks and West End Neighborhood Council will lend out litter grabbers to those who help tidy up the park after the 4th of July Celebrations on July 5th.

Time: 8:30 am- 10:30 m July 5th, clean for 1-2 hours, your choice
Meet-up location: Titlow Park Lodge Parking Lot- small parking lot next to old Lodge building

1. Lender Litter Grabbers are available
2. Please bring your own gloves and hand disinfectant.
3. Leashed dogs welcomed.
4. Park areas to be cleaned: 4 parking lots, 3 beaches, lawns, Hidden Forest area, old TOA site/i.e. last beach, maintenance road, etc.

If we have 10+ people show up, we can clean the park, beaches, and parking lots in about 2 hours.

Please help Keep the West End Clean and Litter Free!

Titlow Park needs more litter picker uppers. If you walk in the park, please consider picking up litter once a week. Titlow has 3 beaches- 1st beach, Hidden Beach, and the sandy beach at the old TOA. During the warmer months too many litterbugs leave their trash behind. Bring a glove and bag and help keep our public beaches clean.

Thank You Ronda for adding more Doggy Station equipment to two different locations at Titlow Park. These additional Doggy Station items should help reduce doggy piles left behind for the public to view and reduce used doggy bags tossed into the bushes. Beautiful waterfront Titlow Park always needs a helping hand in Litter Control. Consider putting together a Litter Picker-Up Kit (bucket, litter grabber, rubber gloves, sharps container for sharp objects, and hand-sanitizer) and volunteer at Titlow or any other public park to pick up litterbug trash and dispose of it properly.
