It is the mission of L’Arche Tahoma Hope Farm & Gardens to offer a safe and welcoming environment that provides meaningful farm and garden work to persons with differing abilities. Working in an integrated setting with people of a variety of abilities and gifts each farm worker, where core member, assistant or volunteer is affirmed in their dignity, self worth and connection to all of life. To put
it more simply the goal of the Farm is “Growing People Growing Plants”
Our work force consists of people of all abilities working together to bring you quality plants and crafts. We are a community supported work program which means part of our funding comes from support from the greater community. We are fortunate to receive grant and other moneys from agencies like United Way, The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, The Medina Foundation, Pierce County as well as individual donors and supporters. Our program sits on six acres where in addition to providing quality annuals, perennials, herbs and hanging baskets, we offer organic vegetables and fresh cut and dried floral bouquets. During the year we also recycle paper and along with our yearly harvest of dried flowers and seeds we create our own “L’Arche Paper Crafts”, which include handmade journals, ornaments, all occasion cards, Christmas cards, picture frames and more.
