We were so excited to have Dr. Emily King visit our animal hospital and spend time with our team! Her knowledge, passion, and dedication to animal care left us inspired—and reminded us why we love what we do every day.

It’s such a privilege to learn from someone who’s so committed to helping our furry patients and their families. Thank you, Dr. King, for taking the time to be with us—we’re already putting your tips into practice!

🐾 Why Reading Your Pet’s Food Label Matters 🐾

What you feed your pet does more than just fill their bowl — it directly impacts their overall health, energy, and quality of life.

From maintaining a healthy weight to supporting skin, coat, digestion, and even long-term disease prevention, nutrition plays a huge role in your pet’s well-being.

But not all pet foods are created equal — and marketing can be misleading. That’s why knowing how to read a pet food label is so important. It helps you look past the buzzwords and truly understand what your pet is eating.

Tick Season is here!

Ticks aren’t just a nuisance — they can carry diseases that affect both pets and people. Keeping your pet on year-round tick prevention is one of the easiest ways to protect your whole family. Ticks can transmit diseases like Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis. Pets can bring ticks into the home, where they may attach to people, so prevention doesn’t just protect your dog or cat — it helps protect your household too. In most cases, ticks must be attached for 24–48 hours or longer to transmit certain diseases. This means finding and removing ticks quickly — and using prevention — can greatly reduce the risk.

Signs of tick-borne disease in pets may include lethargy, fever, limping or joint pain, loss of appetite, swollen lymph nodes, and vomiting. If your pet shows any of these signs, especially after known tick exposure, contact us right away! (After tick exposure, it can take up to 6 weeks to show clinical signs of disease).

✨ This week we celebrate Veterinary Receptionist Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible team members who keep our clinic running smoothly every single day. 🐾

Our receptionists are the first friendly faces you see and the reassuring voices you hear when you call. They juggle ringing phones, appointment scheduling, medical questions, emergencies, and client concerns—all while offering kindness, patience, and compassion.

They are masters of multitasking, problem-solving, and keeping things organized behind the scenes. Whether they’re helping calm a worried pet parent, fitting in an urgent visit, or making sure your pet’s records are accurate, their work is absolutely essential to everything we do.

Being a veterinary receptionist isn’t just about answering phones—it’s about supporting pets, their families, and the entire medical team every day.

If you see or speak with one of our receptionists this week, please join us in thanking them for their dedication, compassion, and hard work. We truly couldn’t do this without them!! 💙🐶🐾🐱

🌷🐣 Easter Pet Safety Reminder 🐰🌷

Easter baskets aren’t just tempting for kids—our pets are very interested too 👀. Keeping items out of your pet's reach will help prevent an unplanned trip to urgent care or the ER during the Easter holiday.

📱If you think your pet got into something, seek veterinary attention as soon as possible! 🚗

Bonus tip: If your pet starts licking their paws more than usual or develops redness, it may be time for a check-up—wet conditions can lead to skin infections.
