We are facing a challenge together. This is a community issue, a neighborly issue, and one that touches both animal lovers and non-animal lovers alike. Shelters are overflowing, and posts like these fill our feeds because the need is so great.
This isn’t about blame or pointing fingers—it’s about recognizing that the solution lies in all of us. Animals are not disposable; they are companions, family, and a privilege to love and care for.
There are so many ways to help:
If you can’t adopt, foster.
If you can’t foster, volunteer.
If you can’t volunteer, donate.
If you can’t donate, share.
Every action makes a difference. Every voice matters. Together, we can create hope, save lives, and show up for our community and for the animals who need us most.

We’ve had some new faces join us recently, so we wanted to reintroduce ourselves and remind everyone of our mission 💙

Cuse Pit Crew is not a rescue — we don’t have adoptable dogs. We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on advocacy, humane education, and community support for pit bulls and other misunderstood breeds in the Syracuse area.

Through free training, school-based humane education, and media advocacy, we work to reduce shelter intake, increase adoptions, and create a more compassionate community.

Our Keep Us Together (K*T) program helps pet owners facing hardship keep their pets by providing resources, behavioral support, and emergency assistance.

Whether you’re new here or have been with us from the beginning, we’re so glad you’re part of this mission. Don’t take PITy. Take action.

We hear it all the time, and we’ve got you covered. Whatever you’re looking for, shelters and rescues have it. From puppies to seniors, purebreds to mutts, lap dogs to adventure buddies, even cats (yes, cats too 🐾).

The only breed that matters is loved. 🖤
Adopt your new best friend or support your local rescues if you already have a house full of puppy love. Cuse Pit Crew also has resources for new pet owners to help make the transition smooth and set everyone up for success.

This isn’t an uncommon story, and it’s precisely why we do what we do. Educate your friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who’ll listen about the love and loyalty of pit bull-type dogs. Shelters are full, and your new best friend might be 5%, 35%, or 100% pit—every bit of them deserving of love. Keep sharing adoptable pitties, supporting rescues, and showing up for the dogs who need us most.

When one of our Keep Us Together pet parents moved to a neighboring county, we worried we wouldn’t be able to keep providing the support they and their pup needed. That’s when our friends at Rover's Do Over stepped in. No questions asked. They showed up with supplies, compassion, and zero judgement.

Because of past violence in this pet parent’s life, we’re keeping their dog’s face private. But know this: behind the heart is a very loved pup and a survivor doing everything possible to rebuild.

This is what the animal welfare community looks like. When our reach ends, others extend the circle. Thank you, Rover’s Do Over for reminding us that collaboration saves lives, both human and animal. 💕🐾
