60 eggs set. Ranging in 1-12 days old.

50 developing nicely 1 quit and 9 didn't develop.

Pretty good for 2 young boys over that many pullets/hens.

This is for my own keeping and the remaining will be available at hatch or the summer/fall clear out.

This is my last hatch inside till more than likely next year. Minus whatever all these broody hens hatch out 🫠

I don't hardly brag on myself. I'm small in numbers and new. I picked paints of all varieties to start with. Mainly because I also was breeding paint horses.

Anyways here is a example of a 4.5 month old cockeral I bred. Does he have leakage yes. Will I cull him for that heck to the NO. He has perfect toes tight wings a crazy soft cushion dark eyes and no pigment holes on his feet plus he's pretty decent width wise as well.
for his age.
We all choose what we are looking to create and what we throw away.
Do I love leakage no. Is it HARD to remove yes. But I will get there in time. Part by part egg by egg I will achieve the paint silkie I dream of.

Plus he's super cuddly and loves to nest with the broody ladies 🖤

10 days 65 eggs ..... they are all going in the bator. I have a list of locals waiting for fall silkie availability. Plus I have my own agenda I'm behind on. So here we go!!!!!!!

I left 6 or so eggs for 2 broody hens. I just hatched out 13 a couple days ago. Hatching is in full operations again. 🥰

After this big hatch. I'll offer up mixed color silkie hatching eggs!

These semi warm sun setting days are my favorite chicken watching time 🌅

My birds are just enjoying the normal chicken life. No show prepping or breeding pens going on for now. I'll re group and get the new barn and pens set up later sunmer.

Today was exciting and filled with so much love. Hope everyone is having a blessed weekend 🙏

I'm taking a break. Not sure ill show at all this spring or wait till fall. My peace in life will always trump anything else. Unfortunate the drama in the silkie world is for childish grown ups and I'm not interested in participating. The lies ....deception.....and out right mean girl behavior is crazy. What's worse is no one will call anyone out due to the fact you'd be committing social su***de.

I've contemplated selling out and only keeping a few of my fav. birds. I'm still undecided, but untill a choice is made I'll be making progress on the down low. Just sad a few bad eggs can ruin it for everyone.

Have a blessed day and go enjoy the sunshine. Today is lice/mite treatment day and leg band day. So Laikyn and I will be getting hands on with every single bird.

I've waited I think a year now to be able to finally have some special whites from Good Witch Homestead . I actually won a 🧇 for these not that long ago. But I've been watching her white pen for some time.

No matter the outcome of this hatch. I LOVE what she stands for and I'll always stand behind her. Thank you for getting these eggs safely to me.

Because we love to be crazy busy.

If you didn't know, Laikyn's Dad builds and races full sized cars. She's been waiting for 2 or 3 years now for her own car. Finally broke down after she's been helping out in the shop learning to weld and bending metal. So we surprised her with her own mini wedge.

So between silkies, softball and now racing. We have our hands full!!
