Another day, another FIRST here at Kattegat Creek! Our beautiful pair of Peacock Dart Frogs (Dendrobates tinctorius "Tumucumaque") have laid a perfect clutch of 5 fertile eggs! 🥹💕🐸 As you can see, our custom hides and egg laying dishes work perfect, and the frogs love them!

We will keep you updated on the tadpoles, and if you are need of some custom hides or egg laying dishes, reach out to us on any platform! 🥰🦚

A first for us and a very proud moment here at Kattegat Creek Exotics! We have successfully hatched our first Ashy Reef gecko baby! 🤩 Soon he will display brilliant yellow and red coloring with bold stripes, before slowly turning mute grey and brown again in adulthood. These ashy reef geckos are native to Cuba and Hispaniola, and they make the perfect low maintenance, beginner friendly pet that takes up hardly any space (they only reach 3 inches in length!). They are inquisitive, cute, and just absolutely intriguing to watch! 🥰 Definitely one of our favorites. We will continue to post updates on our sweet little guy! And if you look close, you can already see the stripes beginning to appear! 😁

Everybody wants the result. Very few people want the timeline.

They want the collection.

The business.

The customers.

The money.

The reputation.

They just don’t want to spend 10 years building it.

That’s the part social media hides.

You see someone’s reptile room today.

You don’t see the years when nobody knew who they were.

You see the successful breeding season.

You don’t see the failed pairings, bad purchases, animals that never produced, and thousands of hours of work that came before it.

Success looks fast when you only see the end result.

Most of the time, it wasn’t.

Stop asking how quickly you can get there.

Ask what happens if you refuse to quit for the next 10 years.

That’s a much more interesting question.

Most people aren’t willing to play that game.

Be the one who is.

Build.

Introducing our second new male, Ricochet, named after his very go-go-go and spicy attitude. But, as you can tell, he is still a gentleman when he needs to be 😉 This gorgeous boy is a Granite Stripe, double het for Snow ✨ We will be searching for a female that will compliment those genes sometime next year. For now, we are just admiring the beautiful speckles 😍💛

Introducing one of the two new additions to the Kattegat Creek Kenyan sand boa breeding program! This boy is a beautiful Canary Dodoma born just this past July. We have named him Casanova and will be pairing him to our female Canary Dodoma once he is ready!

That bright yellow is absolutely stunning, and he has the sweetest temperament! 🥰 Huge thanks to the breeder Scott Miller for once again supplying us some amazing Kenyans! Tomorrow we will share the other beautiful boy we also acquired, so stay tuned ✅

Holy Roly Poly what do we have here? 😍🧡 That’s right, we are extremely happy to say that we have just begun the process of growing our Ember Bee Isopod colony!

The Ember Bee isopod (Ardentiella sp., formerly classified under Merulanella sp.) is a large, vividly colored, and highly active species native to Vietnam. Unlike many shy or strictly nocturnal isopod species, Ember Bees are exceptionally bold, highly active, and often seen roaming around their enclosure during the day.

We will keep you updated on their status, as well as when we will have some available! ✅
