BREED BAN OVERTURNED": 27-Year Restriction Lifted in Favor of Behavior-Based Standards 🐕⚖️

A significant victory for animal advocates has been achieved as a controversial, nearly three-decade-old dog breed ban has officially been reversed.

Under the newly updated legislation, dogs belonging to previously restricted breeds can now be legally owned, walked, and adopted by the public. The comprehensive update formally replaces automatic, breed-specific bans with fair, behavior-based standards. This legislative pivot successfully shifts the legal focus toward enforcing responsible pet ownership, rather than restricting a dog based solely on its physical appearance.

Supporters and animal welfare groups have widely praised the change, noting that it directly addresses years of unfair stigma tied to certain dog breeds, such as Rottweilers and Pit Bulls. While the restrictive ban has been lifted, lawmakers emphasize that necessary public safety protections will remain firmly in place to ensure community well-being.

I feel like the general public has no idea what the animal crisis currently is. So here's an update:

- The animal shelters are full
- The rescues are full
- No kill shelters are full
- Adoptions are at an all time low
- Intake is at an all time high
- Euthanasia for space is at an all time high

Breeders are surrendering ENTIRE LITTERS, parents included. They arent selling. Puppies, pregnant moms, and good young pets are being euthanized daily. There is no space. The chances that there is a "really nice" home just waiting for your dog or cat are slim. Spay/neuter your pet. Train your dog. They are fine being home while you work. They sleep most of the day anyway. There isn't magically someone who has more time or can take better care. Stop trying to rehome them or surrendering them to the shelter because you don't have time. If you need help, there are organizations that can help with food and possibly medical. And/or direct you to an organization that can. Please keep your pet.

3 Weeks & 2 days old. Teething and walking already. First time in the living room.

Pup video from two years ago and a great example of the mother correcting her pup. This is why I keep the pups til 9 weeks old. She can teach them much faster than I ever could. She also helps with potty training and over all behavior.
My Orbit Miki Rott aka Bug is a Serbian Import with an impeccable lineage. Between her demeanor and my German male, their pups are extraordinarily easy to train and handle.
