A successful Grand American come & gone!
Big congratulations to the Millwood family on their wins over the weekend including Grand Champion American Leopard Hound Female both days with GRCH Thunderstruck Silver Flames, who was also the 2025 Purina Race Breed Winner, shown all the way by her youth handler Ashlynn.

And at 9 years old, NITECH WCH CCH GRCHHOF C&M’s Harley Quinn was awarded Dual Champion American Leopard Hound both days as well as Overall Dual Champion on Friday. Owned by Angie Carpenter & Katie Millwood, also handled by Ashlynn.

Though he’s mostly retired from competition, Wyatt still got to come play this year & racked up a few achievements along the way 🏆

At 9 years old I decided to run him in some field events at the 2025 ACHA World Championship where he performed his little heart out & earned the titles of Reserve World Tree Champion & Reserve World Water Champion.
He still gets to come along to all the unlicensed field events throughout the year that various local clubs host because as long as he still has fun, I’ll pay his entries every time.
I also put him on the bench a handful of times and he was able to wrap up his UKC GRCH(3) and landed in the Bench Show Top Ten.
And lastly he’s gotten to tag along to a few conformation events as a Veteran where he’s won multiple Best & Reserve Best Veteran awards.

Huck is putting in a very nice Georgia tracking season for owners Mike & Christa Filion!
Out of our 2023 litter, Huck found his calling this year on the blood trail and we couldn’t be happier. Huge thank you to the Filion family for their work with this boy, who has also made a few trips around the all-breed ring for multiple competitive wins towards his title & also securing a spot in the Breed rankings

A little behind on updating but our young Virgil has been ticking along 😊

Having turned 1 year old in September, this is his first season in the woods & he’s been doing everything you hope to see from a young dog.
He also entered the all-breed ring one weekend in October & one day in November and managed to reach his Conformation Championship with all Group placements, including a Group 1, and landed the #2 spot in Breed rankings. He’s also been in 2 bench shows and has come away with 2 Best Male of Show wins.

Looking forward to whatever the future holds!

Nesta finished her Bench Championship this weekend, having won four consecutive Best Female of Show wins that have landed her in the Bench Show Top Ten & the Purina Race 🏆
She’s the 4th puppy from this litter to reach their Championship now at a little over a year old, and is the 3rd to join ranks in the current Bench Show Top Ten standings along with their dad!

We ran down to the 10th Annual Peach Classic today, where Nesta won Best Female of Show 🍑

This is a special event to us as we’ve attended every single one, whether in the show or the hunt or both.
10 years ago at the 1st Annual, our foundation male Nugget won Champion Male. Then at the 5th Annual, Wyatt won Grand Champion Male & King of Show. And now at the 10th Annual, Nesta wins Best Female of Show. Nugget also won multiple High Scoring trophies here over the years in the hunt & Wyatt also has multiple Best Male of Show, Champion Male, and Best Pair wins in addition to his Grand Champion Male & King of Show wins.

A fantastic weekend spent at the NKC Alabama Championship!

Over 220 entries and Wyatt brought home a few slices of pie including Overall B-Bay Champion (tied with Tiffany Smith’s girl Stevie, both with perfect 10’s) Grand Final Line in the Water Race, 2nd Place in an almost 40 dog treeing contest, 4th Place in 2-Dog Treeing (paired with our friend Jamie’s Catahoula boy Caesar) & he picked up another win towards AKC Supreme Grand Bench Champion as well as finishing his NKC Bench Show Championship!
Manon our Catahoula also took Best of Breed in the bench show over a large and beautiful entry of Catahoula females as well as Reserve Best Female in the second largest NKC Catahoula Specialty!
And not to be forgotten, our little Dachshund mascot Weasel wound up with a 3rd Place in Advance Tracking, finishing her longest track yet at over 250 meters with time to spare!
