Can anyone help find a home for this boy? Here is the story from the email I received:
I’m reaching out in hopes that you might be able to help with a situation involving a 6-month-old puppy I recently rescued. He appears to be either a husky, a malamute, or possibly a mix.
From what I was told, the puppy was born on October 5th, 2024, he was initially given as a gift to his previous owner. It’s likely he came from a breeder, as there’s no documentation, and little was known about his care history.
Due to the owners’ housing restrictions—their landlord wouldn’t allow pets indoors -- the puppy spent last week with another person (not the owner), then was given back to his owners and was confined to living in a crate outside. The owners wanted to give him away to a shelter, but local shelters are full. The owners do not want or cannot keep him. I stepped in to give him a safe place to land temporarily.
He’s now with me, but I can only keep him until April 26. After that, I’ll no longer be able to house him—and the idea of him going back to uncertainty is gut-wrenching.
Here’s what I know about him:
• Approximately 6 months old
• Very likely a husky, malamute, or mix
• Only one vaccine so far (distemper)—he still needs rabies and others
• And of course, sweet, alert, smart, with so much love and potential
I would truly appreciate any support or guidance you could offer—whether that’s helping him get into a rescue or foster program, connecting me to low-cost vaccination options (especially for rabies), or helping spread the word to find a potential adopter.
If you have any contacts or resources who might be able to help him find a forever (or even a temporary) home beyond April 26, I’d be incredibly grateful.
