Toco the red-footed tortoise was here for an exam with Dr. Brown recently.

He is 20 years old, but in tortoise time, that’s nothing. Red-footed tortoises are known to live around 50 years. However, they have been recorded to live even 70 years or more under ideal conditions! 😲

Can you tell what this unique patient is?

A fledgling red-tailed hawk! brought this baby to us after Saturday's winds knocked her out of her nest. Dr. Dominguez was able to confirm a femur fracture and place a pin to allow the bone to heal.
Birds this age grow and heal quickly. Oaken Acres believes she should make a full recovery within the next month and be able to be released later this summer.

Randy said the water treadmill is just more fun with his support stuffed animals! Randy had a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery with us in March, and had been visiting Jodie for rehabilitation services. 💪🏻
