Another happy ending to share 🥹🦎💛

This little baby has officially found their forever home, and we couldn’t be more excited about where they’re headed. Truly the best home we could’ve hoped for for this tiny wall sausage 🌭

And as if that wasn’t special enough… this little one shares the same birthday as its humans 🥳🎂
Talk about meant to be. Those are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

We’re so excited to watch this journey unfold and can’t wait to see all the updates as this baby grows, thrives, and rules the walls of their new home!!

Happy 8 months old to sweet baby Halo!

It absolutely fills our hearts getting these amazing updates and seeing how our Cold-Blooded Creations babies are growing, thriving, and so clearly loved. Watching them flourish in their new homes is one of the best parts of what we do. Thank you for sharing Halo with us and for giving this little one such great care. Here’s to many more milestones, sheds, and happy moments ahead 💛🦎

At a time when she needed us, I didn’t realize I needed her even more.

Miss Ophelia is a 9-year-old Ivory Sulcata tortoise who came to us as a rescue, and her shell tells the story of where she’s been. The raised scutes are the result of early husbandry challenges something called pyramiding, which develops over time when diet, hydration, and environment aren’t quite right during growth.

You’ll also notice pronounced growth rings and areas of dry scute separation. These form from cycles of dehydration and uneven growth and are very common in rescued Sulcatas. While they can look alarming, they reflect past conditions… not her current health.

What matters most is this:
✨ This isn’t her fault.
✨ She isn’t broken.
✨ And she can still live a long, healthy, happy life.

Pyramiding can’t be reversed, but with proper hydration, space to move, natural sunlight or UVB, and a high-fiber diet, future growth can be supported and stabilized. She’s safe now and that makes all the difference.

Miss Ophelia has already taught me patience, presence, and a quiet kind of strength. I can feel her heart. I drove eight hours for this beautiful girl, and I would do it all over again without hesitation. Every mile was worth it.

Sometimes rescue isn’t just about saving them… it’s about learning, growing, and finding exactly what your heart needed. 💛🐢
